On yesterday's 7-9-13 show the Third Amendment was being discussed and a caller mentioned a case in Henderson where police arrested a family for refusing to allow them to use their home for a domestic violence investigation. The question was then raised as whether or not police are really soldiers and Thom, kind of fudged on this issue hinting that maybe they could be because they have been increasingly miltitarized. Oh, come on, of couse the police are soldiers and always have been. They wear uniforms, they have military ranks like sargeant, lieutenant, captain, etc. They are called officers, and what does that make the rest of us: privates? In other words, the police are a standing army and as far as I'm concerned one that never should have been created.
