Yahoo News reported that that McConnell secured language in the new government funding bill that includes $2.918 billion for a dam project to install locks on the Olmsted Dam and Lock Authoirty Project on the Ohio River in his home state of Kentucky. That project is already over-budget and not expected to be completed until 2024. The original funding was supposed to be $755 million but is now almost $3 billion - pork came home to Kentucky at the expense of working and middle class Americans out of work and struggling to make ends meet. And the beat goes Washington legislators head home for a much-needed break.
