How is this for a man with "family values?" Just days after being popped buying cocaine from an undercover narcotics officer, pleading guilty at his arraignment, and being required to spend his days, weeks or months at a famous rehab center in Naples, FL, he's on the campaign trail. See the story which was posted in the NaplesNews.com site on Nov. 21st.
"Trey Radel hugs Litha S. Berger, President of the Caxambas Republican Club of Southwest Florida, Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 at the Naples Republican Headquarters in Naples, Fla. Speaker of the House John Boehner came to support 19th District Republican Congressional Nominee, Trey Radel, along with Naples City Mayor John Sorey all backing Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in this coming U.S. presidential election. Dozens came out to support the political figures."
The fundraiser is incorrectly stated as Oct. 2nd. It should have stated "Nov. 2nd." Maybe all of Naples is on coke.
And the Tampa Bay Times takes a much dimmer view of the political figure than the Naples crowd. See: "Radel continued to vote and tweet (his nonstop presence on social media ranged from witty to partisan to buffoonish) as if nothing happened. Back in his district, he held a re-election fundraiser at a country club in Naples. Donors were beckoned to “Gourmet with Trey” -- not a sign from a man ready to beg for forgiveness."
It appears even more cocaine was found in his apartment. So how did he manage to just skate on this? Is the tea party Atty Gen of Florida, Ms. Pam Bondi, going to get a warrant to search his residence here in Florida for more coke? I serious doubt it. Now if Trey (Henry) was black or hispanic, that would be a no-brainer. But now, alas, poor Ms. Bondi is busy trying to get the Florida Supreme Court to deny John Morgan's petition to put on the Florida ballot a bill to allow Floridians access to medical marijuana.
America, what a great country - for some.
