Alan Grayson is asking for ideas to try to pick up Two Trillion, but that is Chump Change. In Senator Bernie Sanders newsletter yesterday (Bernie Buzz, July 21, 2011), Bernie point out that, and I quote:
"The first top-to-bottom audit of the Federal Reserve uncovered eye-popping new details about how the U.S. provided a whopping $16 trillion in secret loans to bail out American and foreign banks and businesses during the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression".
Much of this went to places that the Fed refused to identify. I think we could ask for a refund, and totally pay off the national debt with it (currently at about 14 trillion), and probably have enough left over to fund the big three forever, provide health care for all, and even offer free college education to our worthy students like most every country in Europe does.
What say you?
