That's what I'm going to start calling them. I was commenting on an article about Sally Jewel speaking about Trump and Zinke attacks on public lands for the benefit of the fossil fuel industry, and I thought of that old saying (that Bush classically screwed up) - Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. This is actually the third time the fossil fuel industry has fooled the American public. The first was 1980, the second 2000, and now Trump. They make the elections about everything else under the sun, but the real hidden agenda is access to, or even control over public lands, and rolling back environmental protections that are costly to them. The proof is always what they do as soon as they get in office, i.e. Pruitt for EPA, Trump rescinds Clean Water Rule, orders study of national monuments. So it's the third time they've fooled the American public in a big way, and I'm afraid we're going to pay for it in a big way this time around.

To be fair, Trump did talk a lot about how environmental restrictions are hurting the economy. Particularly in regards to coal.

To be fair? The man's a liar. He stood in front of Boy Scouts with Zinke, an Eagle Scout behind him dressed as a scout leader, and said that they would leave federal lands better than they found them (one of the rule the BSA lives by). When of course Trump and his cabinet want to sell land off to the highest bidder for them to use and abuse as they please.

Disgraceful.

Removing Environmental restrictions means pollution for profits. Some people believe Americans are worth more than Oil and Coal and Fracking profits. Some don't. Some worship money and treat it as their god. Some buy National Parks to extract and sell fossil fools. Some believe they should be left for future generations to enjoy. Some believe in Big Pharma profits over homegrown herbal remedies. Some don't. Senate Panel Advances Measure to Protect MMJ State. Some pretend to support the Military and some don't. Medical Marijuana for Veterans Blocked

Same with Frankenfud over natural food. Some believe schools are for profits on taxes spent and some believe kids deserve a free education from taxes spent. Some believe in prevention and cures while the fossil fool Neocons believe in treating symptoms for profits. Then treat the side effects for more profits. Some believe in American people having adequate health care and some believe Americans should make health insurance companies richer. Americans pay taxes for the infrastructure while others favor it be spent drone bombing brown people. Homeless Americans or deregulated cheap made overpriced houses. Living wages over 3 jobs. Fossil fools, coal fired steel, crude oil plastic or Independence. Jay Leno drives a car made out of cannabis. Some believe our money should go to the Middle East rather than American family farmers. Some believe in giving Americans a choice and some prefer being puppets to monopolies.

Fossil Fools have been around since Rockefeller started Alcohol Prohibition to kill Ford's ethanol cars built from the ground up.

I'm not sure how anyone could have followed the campaign and came away with the impression that Trump was not going to lessen regulations around oil and coal extraction.

You're right, he did. But was that the overriding message of his campaign. Did people, other than perhaps coal miners and their relatives, vote for them because they wanted all the environmental regs rescinded or rolled back, so that Pruitt would be put in charge in EPA and neuter it, or worse make it an agent of industry instead. Or because they wanted national monuments and other public lands opened to oil, gas and coal, or sold off? I don't believe the vast majority of what we saw early on, what I like to call a "blitzkrieg" on the environment and public lands, is what Americans who voted for Trump had in mind, or wanted when they did. But it was his first and biggest play so far, which makes it largely (but as you noted not entirely) a hidden agenda of his campaign, and the fossil fool industry. Just look at all the connection to the industry. Kris Kobach, from the home state of the Kochs makes cross check available to battleground states. Mike Pompeo gets to head EPA. His #1 contributor was Koch Industries when he was a representative. Tillerson was CEO of Exxon when they made a $500 billion deal with Russia that got squashed by sanctions. Etc, etc, etc.
