A friend of mine recently asked why she isn't seeing the things I post of Bernie Sanders' in her feed. I was of course quite upset by this revelation. I share his memes, and occasionally articles about him that aren't inflamatory. She has a small friends list, there is no reason why she shouldn't be seeing my posts in her feed, especially the "sponsored" ones that people pay to be seen. She asked why they aren't getting likes or shares. I have often wondered this myself as I have quite a number of friends who Bernie's views really resonate with(except for the libertarians, for some reason facts don't phase them...) I get maybe 2 likes and almost never a share, and there are 300+ people on my friends list, the only conservatives are family, which are few(though they are starting to catch on that Scott Walker does not represent them, especially ones who work in a school or are part of a union). If Bernie Sanders is trying to run a grass roots campaign that largely involves social media, and social media, besides Bernie's memes which *I* made sure are coming through *my* feed or I go look and see if I missed anything if they haven't, almost all the articles that come through or that drop down under a meme I share are not so flattering articles from The Hill or something similar, if this is how Facebook is going to start handling Bernie Sanders... Needless to say, I don't like it. Before I noticed all these things, the only meme I refused to share was Bernie congratulating Facebook on paying all their employees more than $15. Maybe he hasn't seen the movie "The Social Network", maybe he should... as much as he can stomach.
