This piece on Obama tripping to Africa is a more pointed article than anything I've seen in newspaper. And gives a good explanation of BRICS participanting nations on the African continent.

Evidently the Obama Administration feels it was necessary to implement a Counter Insurgency Force to protect the President and his entourage from insurgent African animals! Sheesh.

But even this article does not answer my question: "What are the odds that Obama would be in Africa with Mandela so ill?" I mean, it would be a PR meister's illusionist IMAGE-MAKING dream-come-true to visually/perceptually give the appearance that 'the baton' (so to speak) passed from Mandela to Obama. Very odd, imo.

Obama in Africa as Mandela is on his death bed is certainly no mere coincidence, but might it possibly have at least some not-so-sinister intent than the blatant PR stunt suggested? Whatever the motivation, I kind of like the symbolism of the first black US president paying his respects to Nelson Mandela. I would feel more swindled had we only got to hear one more grandiose oration from Obama about the life of Mandela after not taking the time to actually meet him while he was alive. If only Obama might get a few tips from Mandela on how to follow through on speaking truth to power and put them to good use before his term is over.

Or stay home and save the half of the people that pay taxes between $60,000,000 and $100,000,000.
