o Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press and other Bill of Rights' liberties are being eroded and openly attacked.
o Corporations are being treated as SUPER humans (granted Constitutional liberties reserved for humans and/or citizens in additional to other privileges in a scheme of corporatist abuse via special dispensations).
o Abuse of workers and animals and the environment are extreme and continue to be increased by those few in power.
o Once public institutions from utilities to schools to healthcare are being corrupted as Privatization schemes increase and take hold.
o The financical sector and industry have used graft and bribery and the campaign finance system to guarantee that sane regulations and equatible taxing cannot reach them.
What we need are individuals willing to use their elected positions to speak to these issues with as much conviction and thoroughness as did Senator Charles Sumner when he made his famous speech "THE BARBARISM OF SLAVERY" on the floor of the Senate in 1860 (the year Lincoln was elected).
