I've heard Thom speak about Germany's incredibly efficient use of solar energy despite being one the most cloudy countries in Euope.

Apparently Thom is wrong! Read this Fox News item: http://slate.me/11uPi8j

The talking heads guarding the inhabitants of Bullsh*t Mountain from rejoining the world of the sane only serve their own warped ideology. Fox News is a propaganda machine which dumbs down America by the day through disinformation and their slanted agendas. See their anchors spewing forth feces from their mouths in my visual homage to the network on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-fox-news-scylla-guardian-of-bullsht.html

Unless FOX no so news were to pay me (on my terms) to read, listen or watch anything they put out, I would ignore it. Even if they paid me (on my terms) I would decline the offer.

just for those interested in if solar works in cloudy climates, its a good question and many who favor alternate energy have their doubts about it. They just don't know. It works. I live near Seattle. We get 250 cloudy days a year. I've seen a number of homes that managed a 60% heating savings with passive solar alone. Passive solar is far more effective in terms of energy saved than active systems. Active systems are exemplified by solar panels. They are expensive, and use a lot of exotic resources that have to be imported. Passive systems are simply about catching the rays of the sun thru the way the home or building is designed and sited on the land. They don't require any moving parts or rare earth minerals, and there's nothing that breaks down. It seems that on most cloudy days solar energy is still coming thru the clouds. We have a small green house attached to an out building and it heats up nicely even on days like today when we had no direct sun, and the sun is still very low in the sky this time of the year. Seattle is as far north as Maine. So ask your architect or builder for a PASSIVE SOLAR design, or have a remodeling contractor build you a solarium, or a green house porch. It will help.

Organized Money Is Dangerous To Democracy

The question that is constantly being asked, particularly on the talking heads on television, is "what do the Democrats have to do to regain political power?" What does it take?
