Progressives, I and several other Democrats in Arizona are running Clean, meaning that we are collecting $5 contributuions in order to collect public funding. This funding is NOT from the taxpayer, but from penaties and fees charged in the courts. Thanks to the "ecomomic downturn," that $5 is dear; heck, one dollar is dear! For those of us who are running Clean (also called Participating Candidates), we each need 260 $5 contributions. These are due by August 19.
Please get out the word -- it has never been so hard to get these contributions as it is now. We are putting in the work. Just not getting as much. This is a great return on your investment. We're putting the real issues at the top of the list and ignoring the red herrings.
We need help so that we can make a difference for you. Get out the word - Arizona needs your help. To find out who is running in your district, go to http://www.votesmart.org/election_state.php?state_id=AZ&go2.x=21&go2.y=4..., click on the Senate or Legislature link, then find your district and click on the Democratic candidates. Not all of their information is out there -- mine isn't. My website is www.pat4az.com. Teri Conrad, my running mate for the Legislature, doesn't have one yet -- we're working on that.
Contact us, find us, contact us. And we can only accept $5's from registered voters in our respective districts. We can accept seed money up to $140 per person. We need help getting out the word. If you live in Arizona, tell your friends, find out where your candidates are going to be (I'm usually at the Phoenix Public Library, Juniper Branch at 19th Ave and Union Hills Dr on Tues, Wed, Thu 4:30-7, Sat 9-5 and Sun 1-5).
