Most know that the Black slave was abused in a myriad of ways. Few, however, pay much attention to the more esoteric, if you will, forms of abuse. One of these more esoteric forms of abuse was, believe it or not, in the diet of these kidnapped and enslaved individuals. And though I really am fighting the urge to get further in the weeds on that issue, I must save it for another time for that is not the point of this piece; but I did need to mention it. Essentially, the slave was given the discards or offal from whatever livestock existed.

Pig’s feet was one of them.

As if refusing to stand for the sacred, and racist, anthem of the United States were not enough Colin Kaepernick, my new favorite athlete, has doubled down on his convictions by wearing socks at practice with an image of a cartoon-like pig in a police hat in protestation of the continuous police murders of Black people in America.

I literally had to steady myself writing this because I was racked with fits of glee, pride and yes… laughter.

One of the reasons that I had no desire to continue a career in law-enforcement was because of the inherent racism/Blackism of the craft; and that’s what it is a “craft” it is not a profession. Though my intent was to spend only a brief time in that craft for the experience before entering law/graduate school, it was a lot briefer than even I anticipated. I have told the story on-air and in numerous op-eds about the FTO I had (Field Training Officer) who regularly used the term “Jungle Bunnies”…in front of me.

So, amidst the ridicule and veiled racist statements about him, Colin has taken a stand once again. His motives have been questioned, he’s been threatened in all kinds of ways, his “credibility” has been attacked and his “patriotism” has been scrutinized yet…that young brother is standing his ground. Definitely showing more courage than the cowards that are apt to respond to this op-ed.

Like I have said many times before, I have met some great cops but they tend to be the exception rather than the rule. Shout out to Paul DeJong from the San Bernardino Sherriff’s Department, Deputy McCall from that same agency, Detective Richard Simmons (ret.) from LAPD’s 77th Division and one of my mentors, my former T.I. Special Agent Ernest “The Godfather” Benefield (R.I.P.) L.A. Airport Police and Federal Housing Authority and last, but hardly least, California Highway Patrolman B. Markos about whom I will be authoring a piece very soon. The CHP, overall, is the most professional law-enforcement agency I have ever come into contact with. However, these individuals are exceptional, they are not the rule.

That having been said, I must now go and order my Kaepernick Jersey (#7) and, though I detest the thought of them (let alone eaten them) grab myself some…

PIG’s feet.

Gotta figure out how to cook ‘em.

No thanks Brother Allen. Ghost, there are good cops; unfortunately, they are ostracized and fearful of retaliation (think Chris Dorner).

http://newsone.com/2213671/chris-dorner-uncensored-manifesto/ . I know that what happened to Chris happened; I know that it did because I have had the view from the inside. That brother was a hero, for real. In fact, I'd like to write about his story someday. Knowing full well, in so doing, that I will put myself in considerable peril. But...

What else is new.

Like I clearly stated they are few and far between (as the U.S. goes); but I do not want to live in a world without them because in every society there are nut cases that have to be dealt with; especially in the drugged-out, dope fiend infested United States. Remember that what is the slave patrol inspired policing in the U.S. is vastly different than that which is policing in most of the rest of the world. Get in the wrong situations and a good cop will look like an angel to you (disregard the fact that virtually all depictions of "angels" are white folks with wings on their backs; just chalk that up as some more bullshit). Trust me brother. Now, I am well aware of what your experiences have been as well as my own; Mark Fuhrman patrolled our neighborhood, and I know you remember. He was known as a racist/Blackist, murderous bastard then, and has remained true to his "colors" to this very day. The cops are bastards, for the most part , in the U.S.because they get their dictates from the society. We have the situation we have because that's what the white folks want. When they want it to change (and they do not)...it will.

It takes extraordinary intestinal fortitude and courage for anyone to go against the prevailing tide, and swim upstream.

It probably helps to have a spawning ground to swim toward ... Not to mention equilibrium in the ecosphere.

Hell, that's the best recipe I could come up with for pigs feet. Just trying to help bro.

Me? I wouldn't even give them to my dog and I let my dog eat anything he can catch or if fresh enough whatever he comes across.

I'm with you brother Kenyatta on the CHP being the most professional, egalitarian and, perhaps most importantly, honest of any poolice I've had the displeasure of 'running' across.

Brother Nat, don't hate on me for being an omnivore.

Brother Allen, LOL on all, especially Nat.

The CHP, as such things go, are about as good as it gets and even they have a large contingent of assholes.https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=CHP+officer+beating+black+woman+on+10+freeway&view=detail&mid=282E94A8811070AD0043282E94A8811070AD0043&FORM=VIRE

I always love how the white folks use the word "alleged". A trick they taught us in school. I wonder what white folks would have to say were this a white woman being beaten by a black officer that way.

Uh, actually I don't wonder because I know...which is exactly why it never happens.

Brother Al you and Brother K are getting funnier and funnier...NOT! You brothers gone have to get that hate under control. Suave young brother like me is used to that though. And your recipe stinks! Ha!

On the serious side, I absolutely agree that Chris Dorner was/is a hero. No doubt, but the rest of that we have to agree to disagree on big homie. Hey Kenyatta, I'm going to get a pair of them socks too. I got a cold blue pinstripe I want to sport them with.

Brother Ghost, brother Ghost, First off, I am barely a year older than you, and you aren't that young or that "suave". Whatever "suave" you have you got from being in my presence. Looks like you been in the sun too long out there in Palisades and are suffering from severe heat stroke. My understanding of heat stroke symptoms is that they are marked by confusion.

Keep it up.
