Do you get so much when you're laid off that you don't feel like looking for a new job? Suppose you got $31.4 million in your severance package, like former CEO Anne Mulcahy of Xerox? Maybe you'd be "eating bonbons and watching TV instead of looking for a job". Get the details on my posting at http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/7/2/881071/-Funemployment-for-CEOs.

Why does Congress have so much trouble extending unemployment benefits for workers when their bosses get enough severance to retire comfortably and never have to work again? Maybe if we highlighted how much these golden parachutes are worth, it would be a little easier to extend benefits. I'd like to see some of these Republican Senators answer that question.

If Americans Die in a Pandemic - Blame the GOP

Thom plus logo As a possible pandemic looms on the horizon, the United States is the only developed nation in the world without a national healthcare system. Medicare For All is not just about saving as much as half of all of our half healthcare dollars, it's also about national security.
