Fundamentally, there are two kinds of Tea Partiers.
First, there are the wealth-obsessed founders and financiers, the Tea Party leaders who are already wealthy, those who like the Koch brothers call the shots and instigate chaos from the safety of their mansions in walled-in compounds.
Second, there are the wealth-obsessed followers, those who are far from wealthy but whose overwhelming aspiration for riches has left them vulnerable to deceit and blind to the corruption of those they admire – the few, truly wealthy and most notably the cult of corrupt Tea Party leaders.
The average middle class American since the mid to late twentieth century has a can-do spirit, a vision of prosperity that drives a boundless ambition, an energy that releases creative instincts and builds reality. Mind to matter - that’s the legacy of the American middle class.
The attempt of the Tea Party founders to hijack and divert the healthy ambition of the average American for their own political purposes is today’s version of Jonestown. The blind faith and obsession that compels the vast majority of Tea Party members and sympathizers to act illogically against their own best interest and in opposition to the best interests of America is not without precedent.
On November 18, 1978, 918 people committed mass suicide in a compound outside of Georgetown, Guyana nicknamed Jonestown. Their leader, like today's Tea Party leadership, had the capacity to persuade with empty promises, to lie without limit, to control and ultimately to murder and massacre without halt or hesitation.
If you’re a Tea Party member, or sympathizer, which are you: a number one or a number two?
If you’re an average, ambitious, productive middle-class American who unlike the Tea Party founders and financiers works hard for a living, loves your family and along with your brothers and sisters has taken up arms to defend this great nation sometimes sacrificing life and limb, please tell me: Since when did you decide to abandon your principles for wealth, your family for greed, your country for fancies of fortune?
Since when did you sign-up to be a number two?
