One theory of where AIDS came from is the partial creation of smallpox vaccine labs in Africa in the 1960's then sudden defunding of the labs by Nixon. Smallpox vaccines were made with monkey blood in Africa. The theory is that African labs trying to keep helping people after defunding, but not being fully trained, may have accidentally mutated HIV in monkey blood into AIDS.
