“The slowdown in global warming since 1997 seems to be driven by unusually powerful winds over the Pacific Ocean, which are burying heat in the water. But even if that happens again, or a volcanic eruption spews cooling particles into the air, we are unlikely to see a similar hiatus, according to two independent studies.”
Worse still this “burying heat in the water” has triggered the most lethal feed-back mechanism that even in the worst of all possible cases scenario was to be avoided at absolutely any cost – the oceans discharging their vast stores of methane into the atmosphere.
There will be increasingly less and less relief from droughts in the future and this, together with the mass extinction, will push food and water shortages to excruciatingly high levels the likes of which will have never before been experienced by mankind....or likely will be experienced again.
Our leaders have failed us.
