An inquiring mind would like to know... Why does the GOP dislike hungry needy children, the elderly and the working poor? Why do they believe, only those at the top who managed to make it rich (whatever means they used to get there) deserve existence and life? The Republican base is largely made up of the very people they seem to dislike, why are they voted back into office repeatedly?

Perhaps it is because your facts are wrong? If you were anywhere near correct in your claims, there would not even be a Republican dogcatcher in office.

I guess I could ask the same question....Why do democrats embrace the lazy and the slothful and give them monetary rewards when so many of us must work for what we have?

The wealthy get plenty of rewards. Nothing about tax increases on the wealthy. Cuts on Education. A well educated populas is an important part of our infrastructure. Without it this country will continue to fall in world wide rankings. It is reported that our infrastructure is falling apart every day. Every industrialized country has good healthcare except for this one. Instead the Republicans want to spend it on million dollar bombs that they drop on mud huts.

It's not that the GOP hates the poor. Not at all: if the poor disappeared overnight, the GOP would have a collective heart attack when it discovered it just lost its favorite flogging target. They actually need the poor a lot more they they let on. The poor and needy at to the GOP what the old Washington Generals were to the Harlem Globetrotters.

How our republic could die in the age of Trump - in a stunning parallel to the fall of Rome

Thom plus logo The American republic could die, just like Rome. Wavering for some time on the verge of becoming a complete oligarchy, America is on the verge of flipping from a democratic republic to a strongman or autocratic form of government, something that's happened to dozens of democracies in the past few decades, but never before here.
