Obama sold liberals out with corporate Obama care WITH NO PUBLIC OPTION. You can't have it both ways thom.

just look at the fascist precedent that this sets. what will be the next fascist program? will it be debt collection corporations using the government to use the IRS to penalize people who are not paying their bills?

actually, there is a public option - and Vermont hopes to implement it when they can. the fact that they didn't run with only the public option - which would have been filibustered and dead - means we have something that is better than we had, just not what we want. but congress is not giving us what we ask for. the money has corrupted the process to the point where even school lunches and food stamps are not safe from being gutted. we have too few voters that know the facts and too many that believe propaganda. that results in a congress that represents the money that pays for name recognition at the ballots.

I agree it's corrupt. Lieberman killed the public option. Obama signed it. It doesn't matter if it's a Democrat that does it. It is corporate fascism. Corporations using the government to force us to pay money to corporations to make CEOS rich.

This sets the standard for the next corporate fascist law and if Americans don't comply we can be hammered with another tax penalty. Debt collector corporations would love a law that penalizes through taxes Americans if they fail to pay thier debts. Certain amount in debt plus failure to pay for x amount of time equals certain amount of tax penalty in addition to regular taxes. Fascism. And some talk show host will say its really not what i wanted but it will help the economy by getting rid of our debt. Or maybe the NRA and gun corporations would like a law requiring all citizens to purchase a hangun and keep it in thier house or you will get a tax penalty. That is corporate fascism. And some talk show host will say its to help Americans be safer at home because police forces are stretched so thin.

And Obama care isn't working. I know someone in medical billing and they say they pay a higher deductible with less coverage. It's absurd besides it's corporate fascism.

Obamacare is not better than nothing. It's a fascist law precedent. It's dangerous as hell. It's a corporate bailout. Just like 2008. Thom is talking out of both sides of his mouth. You can't say "gee it corporate fascist healthcare forced on Americans and maybe 1 day we will get what we really want a 100 years from now maybe if the stars align and you hold your breath and want it really bad. Bs. Obama sold out to corporations TPP Obamacare etc.... Thom is Thom isjust wordsmithing corporate fascist healthcare.

Now Thom is saying he will vote for corporate fascist Clinton. She is sold out to corporations to. it doesn't matter that she's a Democrat. Democrats are corporate sellouts too. they just tell you more of what you want to hear and then they do whatever the money says to do.

Thom keeps saying get out there and get active but DC operates on money not phone calls. And the Corporate Democrats that we vote out, that didn't vote the way we wanted would just lead to another corporate Democrat sellout saying what you want to hear and then selling out. its an endless vicious cycle system will not solved until the collapses. Until Democrats and Republicans are standing in a bread line together like in the thirties. There will be no real change but until then this ship is going down.

Truth2010 -- Are you aware of Ted Kennedy's position when Nixon was trying to pass Obamacare? It sounded just like yours. HIs position changed for Obamacare in 2009. He must said to himselves, 40,000 people a year are dying because of my previous position. Ted must have said I have to negotiate with terrorists (fascists).

I think Thom agrees with everything Truth2010 says. Except, Thom, being an optimist, imagines Bernie can change DC being run by money.

I do not think you should judge Obamacare by one personal experience.

I truly hope Bernie gets elected and changes DC not being run by money. I believe thats overly optimistic. However Thom also said he would vote for corporate Hillary who won't change money running DC. So corprate welfare healthcare make the CEOS millionares will not change. It still does not change the corporate fascist precedent set by Obama. To allow corporations at the federal level through a punishment of increasing taxes of Americans to get richer.

I don't believe we have to negotiate with terrorist bankers. I believe we need to educate all Americans as to what is really going on. Negotiating with terrorist bankers gets you no public option.

I think Martin Luther King was one of the smartest and courageous men ive ever known. And i dont think King would have said lets fight for freedom of our race, but if we cant be free lets settle for another form of slavery of corporate masters and vote for them and maybe one day we will have rights after being submissive to and pleasing our new corporate concentration camp masters. No ! King knew he was going to die, but he continued he did not compromise.
No American is going to believe in halfway half measures this election. Odds are,Republicans will win with a vengeance.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.

Martin Luther King Jr.

There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.

Martin Luther King Jr.,

Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal.

Does it sound like King compromised with corporate America?

I think we have to remember that even Single Payer would be paying money to some for-profit businesses for medical services. Perhaps what you want is a system where both the payments and the medical services are provided for by the government... something closer to Britain's National Health Service.

Ii want what liberals were talking about at the time before the public license option was thrown out. and what were Republican senators crying about? that it was unfair that insurance corporations would have to compete with the US government.

The doctors are for profit enough. We don't need for profit insurance CEOS like Bill McGuire siphoning off millions of tax payers dollars.

Obama is a corporate sellout. when the public option was lost obama didn't fight for it he just told liberals to "buck up", which really meant "eat s***". and we're just going to get more of the same from Hillary.

Single payer would have the same issue as do insurance plans offered under the ACA of having a large enough risk pool with enough people paying in enough money to pay the claims made. Liberals are not the only ones who vote, and many don't even show up to vote. There would first have to be enough members of Congress to go along with single payer, which did not exist when the ACA was passed, and they would have to be confident enough in the level of public support to enact the tax that would finance universal health coverage. There probably would be both a premimum such as Medicare has and some form of tax increase to cover the costs of the program. Such a program might replace employer-sponsored group plans, and workers would be concerned that the new plan might cost them more and would ask whether a government plan would have higher deductibles and co-payments than what they are paying from their current plans.

What Do Democrats Really Want?

Thom plus logo Thomas Friedman, the confused billionaire, told us decades ago that "free trade" is what made the Lexus a successful product when, in fact, it was decades of Japanese government subsidies and explicit tariffs that did so.
