I do agree last election cycle changing the rules wouldve been worthless as they had lost the house. I was dissapointed that this was not done in 2009 as the Democrats wouldve been able to enact virtually every piece of progressive legislature out of the House. Perhaps even universal health care. As many blue dogs as you want, i still you had 51 or at least 50 (plus biden) in the Senate, so I am not much for the excuses of this administration which i will assume as rookie mistakes which will not happen again.
I always hear the Democrats argument against changing the filibuster rule is that they want in place , in case they soon become the minority. I could not disagree more. If there is anything to be learned about this newest batch of republicans is that they are ruthless, and they will stop at nothing to enact their policy. Don't believe for a second that the GOP will not change it first chance they get and roll back as much Obama policy as possible the first 6 months they take over. THEY WILL NOT CARE!. They will have enough time to do with the country what they want, than by the next election cycle they could disenfranchise even more democratic party voters.
