Democrats got murdered in the last election.

It is because Democrats lack what the Republicans have: A COHESIVE, COMPREHENSIVE, CORE MESSAGE/PLATFORM/ and a CLEARLY-DEFINED SET OF CORE PRINCIPLES.

Stand on any street corner in the United States and ask the first 500 people the following question:

“NAME 5 THINGS THE REPUBLICAN PARTY STANDS FOR”

Almost every one of those people will give you some variation of one or more of the following:

Fiscally responsible

  1. Strong defense
  2. Family values
  3. Low taxes
  4. Personal Responsibility
  5. Small government

And I can rattle them off just that quick. Unfortunately,…..so can most people in America. That is the Democrat’s problem !!

Next stand on the same, or any other street corner in the United States and ask passers-by the following question:

“NAME 5 THINGS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY STANDS FOR”

If you get any answers at all,…. other than a blank stare it will usually be one or more of the following:

Moral permissiveness

  1. Defends an entitlement system/”Welfare Queens”/Union “thugs”
  2. Weak on defense
  3. Spineless, no “stones”
  4. Smelly, barefoot, dope-smoking Liberal hippies
  5. Tax and spend Liberals

In his book “Being Right is Not Enough” author Paul Waldman recommends asking yourself why you are a Democrat. Come up with 5 or 6 of your own core principles. Memorize them. Be able to recite them and explain/defend each when challenged or questioned.

Personally, I am a Democrat/Progressive because I believe in:

EQUALITY/JUSTICE FOR ALL

  1. FAIR TAXATION/PAYGO
  2. RESPONSIVE GOVERNMENT
  3. SENSIBLE DEFENSE
  4. STRONG SOCIAL SAFETY NET
  5. MIDDLE CLASS PROSPERITY
  6. REGULATED CAPITALISM/DEFENSE AGAINST CORPORATE POWER

If anyone wants to they are welcome to use one of or all of mine. Add to my list. In any case it will be at least a start to bring the party of We the People back from this ennui/oblivion we find ourselves in.

If you and the rest of America repeats these often enough, and long enough it will become a part of our culture just as the Republican Party has drilled their core principles into America’s collective culture/psyche by doing the same thing over the last 40 years.

It worked for them. It’ll work for us. If we don’t turn this around we will continue to lose elections and get trounced.

Start today.

defining what dems vs gop believe is not as important as motivating people to vote their beliefs. the republican sweep of '14 happened because so many obama supporters don't vote in midterms. if dems want to win, they must motivate their supporters to vote.

Okay, #7-17 got to sound like a rant, but we get the idea. We want some things like child care and health care to be part of the "Common Good". We do NOT expect the "other guy" to pay for these things. We are ALL responsible for the common good. It's just that the wealthy are not paying their fair share (and this does NOT mean their equal share). And it does NOT equate corporate income at people income. Corporations are Not people, that that tranvisty has to change.

Democrats in office believe exactly the same as Republicans in office. If you look at what actually passes ( not what they" wanted" to pass or what they " tried" to pass) ie: NAFTA, CAFTA, Monsanto protection act, patriot act, national defense authorization act, ect. And soon... the transatlantic free trade agreement. These "acts' are passed in a bipartisan matter all with the same bullshit line in the end... " we're glad to see that republicans and democrats can come together in a bi-partisan matter for the good of the blah, blah ,blah." Since the creation of a group of privatized banks that print our currency known as the federal reserve... they have had over a hundred years to infiltrate both sides equally. If you think your side gives a shit about you... then your part of the problem.

Impeachment: The Difference Between Nixon & Trump

Thom plus logo There is a very simple reason why some Republicans participated in the impeachment proceedings against Richard Nixon, but none have so far broken ranks against Trump. That reason is the US Supreme Court.
