'You can't fix stupid' , because no electorate in the world is as stupid as the American voter. Just ask the world watching 40 per cent of the US electorate known as Trump supporters.

Stupidity extends to American lifestyle, a people that are consumed by self serving pleasure seeking , whether its searching out prescription drugs, the US consumes 75 percent of the world's prescription drugs, street drugs Mexico as a country is ruined by drug gangs feeding the US addiction to drugs , fast food junk food eaters ,60 percent of Americans are obese, or a day running their credit cards to the limit at the mall, Americans owe over a 1000 billion dollars of high interest credit card debt. No one can hold a candle to the collective stupidity of Americans.

You can't teach anything to a people that wear stupidity as a badge of honor. Forget the 'baby boomer generation', 'generation X' ,'the millennials', todays Americans should be called 'generation stupid'.

What you don't see is the heads nodding in assent. No need to speak as the summary is perfect.

The so called UNDECIDED US voter takes the GRAND PRIZE in Stupidity, i mean come on if you don't know if one day you're a left leaning socialist or a right wing fascist, you've got serious identity problems. It's been even suggested this moronic group of morally lost people could be as high as 18% of the electorate. Bet these are the same folks who take their kids to 'Chuck E Cheese' to make sure hardening of the arteries of their children starts early and then commence to punch the shit out each other in a riot witnessed by these impressionable toddlers.

Since Hartmann shutdown the forum this site has become useless. I count about 10 contributors. A canadian is on it the most.

The site is not exactly shut down if 10 people can post here, including you and a Canadian. Perhaps the lack of participation is apathetic Americans who go along for the ride and never ask 'were are we going' ,kind of like how the rich have been able to hijack your government, because no one cared to ask 'where are we going?'

Legend is a stand up guy, he's one of the more liberal people who contribute , in fact he is one of the true real independent thinkers here. I think what he was referring to was the apathetic response and lack of contributions. Since this election cycle the freedom to post has been severely restricted ,the result being way to many bloggers have quit this site and of the 10 or so people who do post here regularly, to even get that number has to include a overly chatty annoying Canadian. I could be all wrong but I think that's the purpose of his comment.

Upgrayedd, what is nice though is to see you read these posts and have contributed here . Thank you for attemping to stand up for me .

The average US consumer credit card debt: $15,675

The average Canadian consumer credit card debt: $20,776

(Utilizing the exchange rate comes out nearly equal).

Dukkah, Credit card debt

"Canadian credit card debt: 5.4% of total household debt in December 2014.5

As for Prime Minister Stephen Harper, he won two elections as a 'minority government' , meaning the other two opposition party's had enough combined votes to topple him at any time, which they chose not to do unless Harper 'a born again Christian right winger' gave them a reason. Harper being crazy like fox kept his head down and behaved himself. The Canadian electorate being left leaning liberal by majority, being fair minded rewarded him, a hard right conservative by electing him with a third term and a 'majority government', which in a Parliamentary system means a virtual 4 year dictatorship. It was during this time that the 'real' Stephen Harper showed his horns, destroying government research that conflicted with his ideology, ordered the biggest mass arrest in Canada's history of peaceful protesters , involved a peace loving Canada in 3 world conflicts, war zones, did away with gun registration, while streamlining gun purchases, cut taxers for the rich, while off loading services fees onto the middle class ,tried to subvert our single payer government run health care, raised the age of retirement to 67, (later reversed by the new liberals), refused to acknowledge climate change, while pushing even greater developement of the dirtiest oil on the planet, that being the Alberta tar sands, hired known American pipeline company Kinder Morgan, convicted of hundreds of environmental violations and the felony death of 6 of its workers, had his number one aid criminally charged with election fraud and jailed, at his ouster had no less than a third of his cabinet under police investigation. All this and more in just 4 years. This is only a fraction of the bad faith and corruption his government inflicted on Canadians. Canadians were quite rightfully furious and threw the bugger out of politics by electing the Justin Trudeau the son of our 15th Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau, who for over a decade and a half lead Canada as our Prime Minister.

As for Rob Ford, Canada has its share of right wing lunatics, just not armed with guns or in as great a number as the US , thank god. If you haven't heard , Rob Ford is dead, died not to long ago of cancer.

As for the french Canadian delicacy of poutine( french fries, cheeze curds and gravy) , that is more a 'treat' than a staple.

As for the obesity you mentioned plaguing Canadians, " By 2011, they found 18 percent of Canadians were obese, up from 6 percent in 1985." Two thirds of Americans are overweight or obese, so i think Canadian percentages would be considered good health by most Americans.

Nice try my friend at deflection , but you failed.

Dukkah Earl 2 years 40 weeks ago

Oh yeah, that credit card figure belonged to those who filed bankruptcy, so those most likely wouldn't be figured in the national average as they were either excused or renegotiated to a lower number.

As for your US number, it would seem that's debatable:

Harper, nonetheless, was chosen by your voters. Doesn't diminish the fact that your country has their fill of idiots who vote for bad choices. Goes the same for Ford. Being dead now doesn't change the fact he was elected when he was alive. We have the issue of voter suppression which greatly alters the voting landscape as well as outcomes. What's your excuse?

The article states a growing obesity rate in Canada. It doesn't mention a downward trend. Your poutine street vendors don't help. "Treats" rarely find themselves reaching the echelon of being considered a national dish.

Are you suggesting Chuck E Cheese pizza is a staple?

No deflection. Just showing that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
