I am thinking schools built like bunkers. Surrounded by barbed wire of course and a few missile silos in the middle of the running track.

I'm thinking of why not just make the police teachers. Any not? The police already have all the control over anyones life they choose in amerika. May as well start obedience classes early on from pre-k through HS.

I think line the entrance with sand bags, have drones roam the sky outside the perimeter, rock launcers, motor rounds. We could even hire the helicopter crew in the infamous Wikileaks 'collateral damage' video and let them patrol schools randomly.

No, zapdam, it's much simpler than that. The u.S. must arm every student with an AR-15 and supply each one with a dozen or so fully loaded 60 round clips. The NRA might provide everything at a discount. Soon no more students (nor teachers) so no more student massacres. As a side benefit the absense of students might ease the TwitterTrumper's bone spur pain, might also make it less necessary for the poor fellow to keep hugging himself.

ARM THE CHILDREN! That will be the NRA's fallback position after the first school massacre perpetrated by an armed teacher or member of the staff. Already the NRA claims the reason to arm the teachers is that the teachers care more about the students than security guards. The progressive battle cry should be No MoreGuns, No More Republicans.

How about doing away with congressional elections altogether, instead select members of congress by lottery. Every registered voter's name goes into a hat, the chief justice draws the names.

You know what? These sorts of questions never come up when drafting people to fight, kill and maybe die. Ability? You mean "ordinary" registered voters may have the ability to vote for members of congress but not to be members of congress?

Certainly anyone with a bone spur wiould be exempt. There's precedent for that.

Why don't the teachers who have carry permits just go ahead and bring their guns to school with them? I know their may be laws, rules, and regulations prohibiting this, but who cares about laws, rules, and regulations anyway?

Governor Brown, AG Becerra, and Mayor Schaaf are pointing the way to a new (but really old) style of governing. I like their idea of just ignoring the laws you dont agree with. I can't stand the 70 MPH speed limit on the interstates when there is no one else on the road but me. Next time I get a speeding ticket, I'm just going to tell the courts that I don't recognize the law. I'm just like Governor Brown. I bet that will work out well for me. Thanks Jerry...

A cop in every porta potty. Arm the ushers in movie theaters and rent a cops for concerts. Grocery store clerks and day care centers with AR-15s stashed in the toy boxes. Then arm the preachers for the gunnuts in church. What about the office with workers going postal, hey that includes the USPS. Ronald McDonald can pack extra clips in the happy meals. Gas stations and softball games where the umpire has his military weapons of mass destruction stashed under his chest protector. Buses and taxi drivers and airline pilots. Not to forget the river boats and Indian casinos. Basketball games and St Patty parades all secured with drunk volunteers carrying concealed weapons. Weddings and divorces probably need security guards and restaurants waitresses can go off on bad tippers. Bars are a likely spot for fights so the tender should be within reach of at least a machine gun. Doctors and Nurses in hospitals and clinics not yet shutdown by alt christian paranoids. So many opportunities for gangs and cartels to steal. All so the NRA's munitions corporations can sell more guns. That is the GOPervert priority and fear factor.

Gun-trained teacher accidentally discharges firearm in Calif. classroom, injuring student

Wow! I stand corrected. A teacher brings an unauthorized firearm into a classroom for no apparent reason and proceeds to shoot the ceiling injuring a student. Lots to absorb here but aside from the fact the gun was illegal, the teacher displayed it in a classroom full of kids is a great place to start.

Other than that, if are you saying after 18 years of authorized carrying of firearms in classrooms there are still no recorded incidents, I think you are correct.

A Look at Prohibitionist Rhetoric and Its Consequences
by Julian Heicklen February10, 1998

Senator Orin Hatch, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and 28 Senate co-sponsors have introduced Bill S. 3 that mandates that a person convicted of bringing into the United States “100 usual dosage amounts” of several illicit substances including two ounces of marijuana be sentenced to life without parole for a first offense and death for a second offense.

Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and 37 House co sponsors have introduced Bill H. R. 41 with the identical provision. On May 8, 1997, Speaker Gingrich said: “If you sell it, we’re going to kill you.”

William Bennett, the first U. S. “Drug Czar” has said: “The non-addicted or casual irregular user is likely to have a still-intact family, social and work life. These are the users who should have their names published in local papers. They should be subject to drivers’ license suspension, employer notification, overnight or weekend detention, eviction from public housing, or forfeiture of the cars they drive while purchasing drugs.”

On “Larry King Live,” June 15, 1989, a caller to the national cable television show suggested to Drug “Czar” William Bennett: “Behead the damn drug dealers.” Mr. Bennett’s response was: “I mean what the caller suggests is morally plausible. Legally, it’s difficult But somebody selling drugs to a kid? Morally, I don’t have any problem with that at all.” Mr. Bennett reiterated his position the next day in a written statement that told drug dealers: “You deserve to die.”

Thomas J. Gleaton, Director of PRIDE has said: “We, as parents of all nations, must say to our local law enforcement officer, ‘If my child, my loved one, or my friend breaks the law by using illicit drugs, please arrest him or her.'” Folks, this is your America. Because of the hysteria of our national leaders, not only has reason left the land, but so has the law.

☛ All of these ‘crusades’ follow a pattern that was actually described in (of all things) a NIDA publication: Themes in Chemical Prohibition by William L. White from: Drugs in Perspective, National Institute on Drug Abuse, 1979.

A review of chemical prohibitionist literature reveals eight themes which appear to emerge from the tactics of most such movements. The tactics utilized to produce these themes are as follows:

1. The drug is associated with a hated subgroup of the society or a foreign enemy.

2. The drug is identified as solely responsible for many problems in the culture, i.e., crime, violence, and insanity.

3. The survival of the culture is pictured as being dependent on the prohibition of the drug.

4. The concept of “controlled” usage is destroyed and replaced by a “domino theory” of chemical progression.

5. The drug is associated with the corruption of young children, particularly their sexual corruption.

6. Both the user and supplier of the drug are defined as fiends, always in search of new victims; usage of the drug is considered “contagious.”

7. Policy options are presented as total prohibition or total access.

8. Anyone questioning any of the above assumptions is bitterly attacked and characterized as part of the problem that needs to be eliminated.

☛ Over and over, again and again, without fail. And the lionization of those perpetrating the fraud of prohibition via those themes is nothing new, either: The Forgotten Drug War: One Million Drug Addicts, Part II

One can argue that the prohibitionist side requires charlatans and hucksters, whereas those they supposedly oppose, the drug cartels, in comparison, have very honest motives.

☛ Scientists have announced a discovery that may have profound effects on preventing the severe social damage done to citizens by arch prohibitionists exemplified by Harry Anslinger and Jeff Sessions.

A team including V Warrier, K L Grasby […] S Baron-Cohen at Cambridge has determined that roughly ten percent of a person’s empathy is genetically determined. The discovery could lead to understanding how empathogens such as psilocybin and MDMA enhance feelings of empathy in humans.

11-MAR-2018 — Fifteen years ago, a team of scientists at the University of Cambridge developed the Empathy Quotient (EQ), a brief self-report measure of empathy. The EQ measures both parts of empathy.

Previous research showed that some of us are more empathetic than others, and that on average, women are slightly more empathetic than men. It also showed that, on average, autistic people score lower on the EQ, and that this was because they struggle with cognitive empathy, even though their affective empathy may be intact. […]

The new study has three important results. First, it found that how empathetic we are is partly due to genetics. Indeed, a tenth of this variation is due to genetic factors. This confirms previous research examining empathy in identical versus non-identical twins.

Second, the new study confirmed that women are on average more empathetic than men. However, this difference is not due to our DNA as there were no differences in the genes that contribute to empathy in men and women.

This implies that the sex difference in empathy is the result of other non-genetic biological factors, such as prenatal hormone influences, or non-biological factors such as socialisation, both of which also differ between the sexes.

Finally, the new study found that genetic variants associated with lower empathy are also associated with higher risk for autism. […]

Professor Simon Baron-Cohen added: “Finding that even a fraction of why we differ in empathy is due to genetic factors helps us understand people such as those with autism who struggle to imagine another person’s thoughts and feelings. This can give rise to disability no less challenging than other kinds of disability, such as dyslexia or visual impairment.

AAAS Public Release: Study finds that genes play a role in empathy

Genome-wide analyses of self-reported empathy: correlations with autism, schizophrenia, and anorexia nervosa, by V Warrier, R Toro, B Chakrabarti, iPSYCH-Broad Autism Group, Grove J, Borglum AD, D Hinds, T Bourgeron, and S Baron-Cohen. Translational Psychiatry.

Implications of the genetics research include the possibility of a drug treatment regimen for prohibitionists with extremely low EQs, people who want drug offenders executed—burned at the stake if possible—people such as Donald Trump or Rodrigo Duterte; and of course Bill Bennett, who has always preferred decapitation.

One could easily speculate the Cambridge discovery will lead to a new form of guerrilla-like chemical warfare. The strategy would involve groups such as Antifa arming themselves with concealable blowguns loaded with darts containing sympathy juice and deploying them against fascists at close range. No fascist would remain safe from the immediate effects of empathy.

Harry Anslinger’s weed hysteria destroyed the hemp industry in the US and added to America’s environmental problems due to the consequent intensification of cotton production, a water, insecticide and fertilizer demanding crop. In a counter example, farmers in Puglia, Italy, have grown hemp for several years as a means of cleaning toxins from farm soil:

Hemp ‘Eats’ Chernobyl Waste
The blast heavily contaminated agricultural lands in a 30 km radius around the reactor. The few people still living there must monitor their food and water for radiation. However the combination of a new technology (phytoremediation) and an old crop (industrial hemp) may offer the Ukraine a way to decontaminate it’s radioactive soil.

Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III is as quotable as Harry Anslinger.

The two petty tyrants have much in common. As both Sessions and Anslinger are or were deeply religious men, they tend to be sanctimonious about the virtues of ignorance and stupidity:

The more learned and witty you bee, the more fit to act for Satan you will bee.—John Cotton (1585 – 1652), Puritan

Jeff Sessions’ fitness to act for Satan can be measured by Sessions’ insistence that the US Constitution doesn’t support separation of church and state. His beliefs about church-state separation means he’s an avowed dominionist. Dominionists want a theocracy, not a democracy. They want an authoritarian state like that currently plaguing Iran. Their addictive need to prohibit certain chemical substances emerges due to so many drugs being better suited to solving social, medical, and psychological problems that were once considered the exclusive province of the religion du jour.

It is therefore fitting and ironic that Jeff’s prescient namesake, Thomas Jefferson, commented on theocrats such as Anslinger and Sessions:

In every country and every age the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in line with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for his own protection.
— Thomas Jefferson

I didn't pickit Wilson. "This came right after". I'd say DAREyl Gates and Militarisation exaserbated the problem. Real cops are supposed to be educated in their weapon. They do have an Acadamy for cadets, I saw the movie. I'm across the bay, sittin on the dock. I don't know who or what he is or does. Its not really Russia poisoning people. Or putting Pruit in Sessions place. I'm not against gun safety, only Military weapons being available to civilians, including cops. Military defends against foreign invasion and Cops defend against domestic invasion. GOPerverts and Demonkrats and Liberaltarians follow the money and the profits are in selling and fixing. Musk' idea of voting on issues sounds interesting. People are always going to take the path of least resistance, the same as water.

Since Profits are the new alt christian god and Mother of Invention. There is no intention of dealing with Necessity. For most workers or lower iccomes the Homeless are deterrents to speaking out each time you see one or watch the news. Pruit guts EPA producing more profits for the Big Pharmas. Chaos and fear baby, thats where the big bucks are. War sells billion dollar jets that can't fly and Peace doesn't. Those persecuted are kept in the shadows. Now the middle class is losing light and not doing well maintaining their working class hero status. Stoners are still openly bigoted and their KKK NRA propagandist get tax subsidies. Decades of the same hysterical laws as Jim Crow or Lynchings and mostly people of color serving time while the yuppies paid fines. Now with maxcap even women are joining in the fun of mass incarceration. Now the good ole boys are the most impoverished and who do these proud rebels call? A New York con man. They live in the Airplane Movie.

Police prevent and without the drug war, predominantly Ganja. They would have more time to police and not be overwhelmed with noncrimes and no victims other than what prohibition causes. Trouble with killing the band aids before the lacerations, it leaves brutality and carnage. I dig civilization. Preventing stress is always cheaper than treating it. But we the peoples wear the proper color lapel buttons and then rent someone to represent us getting shafted and then have us pay for it 3 days b4 420. Until each person thinks for themselves ssdd. With a dumbed down media and soap opera administration its each one for themselves. Fear and Loathing sells the same as being sick or wounded by a cop or a cop wounded by a citizen. Fossil Fools and Booze or Petro Chemicals and cotton while Cancer makes $300 billion. Profit prisons and maxcap contracts via ALEC and the Kocheads. Oh look a birdie. Jeez DdC I wish I could type as fast as you do. I must say that is as good a stream of conscious that I've read from anyone in a long time and I'd say that has to rate right up in the top ten for some of your best free form prose I've read in these pages. Lord help us both if I'm the only one that understood it. LOL!

LOL because I kissed this so called 'civilization' off long ago as a lost cause and too screw up to even find their own ass much less where the sun shines. So I've rather settled into a state as my freind ren. says a 'Zen like bemusement' of the whole cluster f'k of this so called civilization. Which kinda brings me back to the schools and what is taught there. WFT are guns doing in schools? Why even intertain the idea of what a weapon is within a school curriculum outside of the military or a police academy? There's already enough of that crap in the popular magical dream scape of the american zeitgeist arc as it is without stuffing more of it into a captured audience of high school aged younsters. Yeh yeh, here's a gun, this is what made it all possible know it and treasure it with your life......blah blah. We don't need any guns in any school for any reason, lest of which is to teach them about guns in any form or fashion. The schools job is not there to teach gun culture.

Like you DdC I have no real issue with weapon ownership perse, heck I grew up with the things. And that's the point, to me they are just things, tools if you will. Or self-defense against the vicious groundhogs when my neighbors kill too many of the preditors that would otherwise take care of those rodents number. Or against that damn woodpecker that insists my barn is a dead tree full of food for him to hunt. Other than that they are just things that rust if I don't oil them now and then. But I grew up with them in my life, I know what they are good for. I also know what military weapons are and unfortunitely also know what they are good for, and so I share your sentimate they don't any way shape or form belong within a civil population. Seems a simple enough step doesn't it? Stop selling military grade weapons to any one that wants one. Duh. And if I had my way those that already own one should start saving their brass because the law would also enclude banning the sell of the ammo.

Fun fact, pick what ever est. you want for the number of weapons now LOOSE in the good old US of A those est's range from 200 m to a little over 300 m, of all those weapons free floating in and about this country only 3 or 4 percent possess fully half of all the weapons.

Yeh, there's something happening here right enough.

The widow of John Lennon posted this photo of the famed Beatles musician to commemorate his birthday. The full post read, “Over 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the U.S.A. since John Lennon was shot and killed on December 8, 1980.”

Hmm, yeh. Kinda funny in some warped way that to defend peace you need a gun if you're going to live tomorrow.

But then again this is the america of little pink houses for you and me that meloncamp sang about.

Another peace soul lost to gun violence and should not be forgotten.

Oh and by the way, your web site music is interesting. Mind if I join with my two cents worth?

1,057,000 shot x $7000 to $10000 per funeral = $7,399,000,000 to $10,570,000,000

Today, the average North American traditional funeral costs between $7,000 and $10,000. This price range includes the services at the funeral home, burial in a cemetery, and the installation of a headstone.Sep 14, 2017

That''s no chump change. Death is big business too.

Apparently they don't just dig a hole in the ground anymore.

Its all just a ball of confusion. And its no accident.

Wednesday afternoon, deputies visited Southside Elementary School and came with an armored vehicle, a horse, two motorcycles and a helicopter. Public Information Officer Natalie Barton said they bring their specialized vehicles because children love them and it grabs their attention, which allows deputies to spread the anti-drug message.

Hey, kids! Look at all these cool weapons.
Using a tank against your friends is lots more fun than doing drugs.

"Casual drug users should be taken out and shot."
-- Daryl DARE Gates - Former LAPD Chief

Daryl Gates was picked to be the chauffeur for Chief William H. Parker. During his lengthy tenure as chief, Parker greatly reformed and streamlined the LAPD, bringing in changes to stamp out corruption and improve efficiency. In general, Parker's reforms had the effect of making LAPD a paramilitary body. To combat low-level corruption, one reform barred officers from having the same patrol area for more than 18 consecutive months. Gates is considered the father of SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics), which established specialized units dealing with hostage rescue and extreme situations involving armed and dangerous suspects.

Her official title should be the Public Information Spin Officer because that's not why they were there, and both you and I know it. It was for shock and awe. It was for instilling a sense of fear. It was for planting the seed of helplessness against the tyranny of an out of control militarized state. Yeh kids, be afraid be very afraid, and you will obey. That was really the message they delivered.

On the bye, did they show how to unload their weapons? lol

This congress "might want to pass"? After it reconvenes in Israel? How much will u.S. taxpayers have to fork over for a multi-use plane that can haul the WH and environs over to Israel (question is: Tel Aviv or Jerusalem?)?

No, man. You can't expect a congress person to read that many words. That's the intern's job. Well, know.

Neocongress. The alt christians are trying to re-claim Jerusalem for Fortune 700 Club alt christians. Bazillionaires either trying to fabricate Armageddon or asset forfeiture on the Robert Mercer, Wilk's Bros and Steve Bannon lenin Idiotlogy. To the White Subremest', Jews are basically educated and working Palestinians. After all it is the land of the alt christians story of Jesus Fox fears liberals are having a war over. Altchristmas and altEaster. Alt Kosher. With the fracking GOPer Bushs buying up land over the Acuifero Guarani while plastic GOPer Con Don is gutting the EPA air and water standards here. Maybe its too obvious. Maybe my CSA schedule#1 hemp blue jeans are as potent as CSA schedule#1 heroin?

Doesn't matter if they can't read, maybe preferable they are illiterate since they spend all of their time following orders without question. For profits on misery they create.

taxpayers have to fork over

Not if they can't find a job. The Gobbleists new weird odor never took a break. Gutting regs and stashing black budgets. McConnal isn't called Turtle just because he looks like one. He's a coward who hides his face in his shell from anything he's not told to deal with. Oppression doesn't just creep up and Surprise!!! You're oppressed. It comes in from people selling out to advance themselves. So called Conpromises. Two different potencies of evil more or less, and not checkbox for none of the above. Every debate shows how unqualified every candidate is. Either they are truthful, and what they say about the others is true. Or they're liars trying to win. They should be disqualified until they get it right.

Nobody for President is quaint and ya gotta love Wavy Gravy. But we do need the checks and balances and a 3rd branch is better and faster than two. The president was added as Commander of the Military to muster an Army faster than Congress. Not decide how we should exist. Neocons hold key positions in all branches. Everyone is still bickering over the two parties when the party is about over. The Free Press is a corporate machine sponsors drop money into and hear a jingle about Trump wacking off in the Rose Garden while the FRCn's give him mulligans from Geeaazuss. ... and the beat goes on and no one hears it. The Ganjawar is a time line of what Neocons can get away with legislatively if the hobgoblin is scary enough. But, like racism and how it continues by word of mouth. If we don't who will and who cares as long as it ain't me.

First they came for the disabled and poor. Warehousing patients pays as well as a cage. Crimes are irrelevant if the tax rates soar from incarceration more than minimum wage. Dayworkers or chain gangs can build a big barge and flood the Potomac. Drag the present resident and all the monuments except Lincoln, to the little town of Bethlehem. Altchristians have faith they'll have more clout with their new world religion being in Biblical stomping grounds. They'll have to do something with the Pope and Rome. St Peter's Casino and Resort? Profit is the Prophet, no need for stained glass and robes.
