John Bonehead et al have already proven they have no desire to bargain. He got his "98%" with his austerity sequester. There is only one reason conservatives are against Obama; racism. Pure, undulterated racism as taught in lore, aka the bible. I say it's about time that white supremists were taken down a peg by having a man of color as Commander-In-Chief. It must stick in their collective craws on a daily basis. Next up, I hope, will be a woman in the Presidency with views like Ellen Ratner/Bernie Sanders.
Why the Democrats keep falling for the Republican lies and nonsense and abandoning common sense is the $64,000 question. They caved on filibusters - GOP lied. Caving on Social Security cuts - GOP lies. Caved on sequester - more GOP lies. How many times do they have to be hit on the head with phony promises before they get the picture? How many times does Obama have to be duped, before he figures out that you make nice with the GOP - you're going to get burned. They don't want to be pals. Get a clue! This just makes Obama look weak, stupid, or like he's sold out. His so called legacy--???-- May very well be that the best he could do was put the brakes on a far right wing congress, but at what costs? Worst of all, it plays right into the hands of the racist right, and racist stereotypes. It could make it very, very difficult for any minority to be elected president again for a very very long time.
Yes, yes speak out. He's got nothing left to lose by standing up and speaking out. Push toward the election in 2014 - throw out the bums that are holding back jobs, the safety net, letting banks run amok, and throwing our planet under the bus.
