The two OK senators today said they will block FEMA relief for OK tornado victims unless there is equal tax relief elsewhere. What small men these two senators are. Does the GOP sprout these heartless, unfeeling people from seeds?
How do we decide who deserves relief? What disasters warrent relef? Natural disasters, economic disasters, dsasters caused by terrorist attacks or disease or...? Individual disasters, state disasters? Didn't this generation decide that people were supposed to pull themselves up by the bootstraps, take personal responsibilty, and not look to government as the solution? We're "rugged individuals," each of us alone, each on our own. l don't agree with any of this, but that is what Americans have been saying for years.
The Republican House has already proven it can waste our taxes on ludicrous notions like 37 votes on Obama Care. Wasting more on arguing about assitance for Oklahoma would not be out of their narrow agenda, when they would do better to just vote the funding and be done with it. Dragging their feet on this could come back to hurt them on election day. Folks may not remember scandals as much as they'll remember no homes, no power, plumbing or other infrastructure.
Do they care about lives? Wars over oil and ripping off the middle class says they don't give a hoot about lives. They do care about getting re-elected.
The Republicans in Oklahoma will go with anything these two Senators decide ----WHY?
Because they are Rupulicans, if your a Democrat in OK -you are gum under their feet !!
They are livid that Obama is coming to OK - making statements that are absolutely disgusting regarding how they feel and what they'd like to do.
