No as long as Roger Ailes is in charge of propoganda and the Koch Brothers and Sheldon Adleson bribe the teapublican'ts to insure their silent obidient consent nothing will change! Now if Thomas, Scalia and Alito are impeached from SCOTUS then maybe the new justices will vote to overturn Citizens United v FCC!
I agree with LibbyMN and I hadn't thought of that aspect before. When they talk about their constituents, even if that's who they are talking about, I have wondered how many actually sided with them and how many opposed them? If only 1 out of 40 sided with them, they'd still say they listened to them, but will neglect to mention that they only listened to the ones that agreed with their point of view. I've learned to "listen between the lines" when the GOP talks and discern the real meaning.
We buried a car on campus in Ann Arbor in the early 70's. We knew then, if we didn't bury these petrol-chemical autos they will bury us. Jimmy Carter knew it too. He instituted a plan using solar for energy independence. Reagan and Bush and the oil people took the solar panels down when they came to power. Big oil won. They extort 30 billion a year from us in subsidies with paid off politicians. These subsidies pays for the fines we give them for polluting and fouling our environment. The are buying the dismantlement of our EPA. This is our law enforcement agency that protects our health, environment, our future. People that would destroy our planet for greed and self interest are the most dangerous criminals to ever walk this earth. They are destroying our future. We must usher in the new green economy and make the petrol-chemical economy go the way of the dinosaur.
Mueller's favorite place to pray (written about in "Prophet's Way"), and the roof of the room where the Last Supper is reputed to have happened.
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom Hartmann channels the best of the American Founders with voice and pen. His deep attachment to a democratic civil society is just the medicine America needs."
—Tom Hayden, author of The Long Sixties and director, Peace and Justice Resource Center.
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"In an age rife with media-inspired confusion and political cowardice, we yearn for a decent, caring, deeply human soul whose grasp of the problems confronting us provides a light by which we can make our way through the quagmire of lies, distortions, pandering, and hollow self-puffery that strips the American Dream of its promise. How lucky we are, then, to have access to the wit, wisdom, and willingness of Thom Hartmann, who shares with us here that very light, grown out of his own life experience."
—Mike Farrell, actor, political activist, and author of Just Call Me Mike and Of Mule and Man
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom Hartmann is a creative thinker and committed small-d democrat. He has dealt with a wide range of topics throughout his life, and this book provides an excellent cross section. The Thom Hartmann Reader will make people both angry and motivated to act."
—Dean Baker, economist and author of Plunder and Blunder, False Profits, and Taking Economics Seriously
Republicans only do what their constituents want, unfortunately their constituents are not citizens, but oil barons.
