I suggest that Bernie Sanders will offer no more than rhetoric! This because he appears only in media that has small audience. We'll recognize opportunity for real change when their words reach the great majority, or when one finally raises public attention to fact that large media fails to carry their messages to us. Bernie was one of the members of Congress, The Senate, former Presidential Cabinet members and other noted citizens who made repeated public appearances on MSNBC two years ago, reminding us that large public opinion holds history of forcing significant political change, and urging us to begin gathering such to that end. While watching I felt I was witnessing important history! Everyone I spoke to regarding their message seemed to endorse it. Had news media not kept it from the 99% I believe we might have better government today. Where once news media benefitted the nation as it's conscience, early warning system and reminder of past mistakes, it now benefits the big business that owns it all.
Senator Sanders would make a great 45th President of the United States.
Senator Sanders stands for functional representative government, also known as Democratic Socialism. The Democratic part is about political equality, which he stands for. The Socialism part is about ending vast disparities of income and wealth, which he also stands for.
These disparities exist in large part due to the unfair advantage gained by the big money influence over our elected officials..... a gaming of the system also known as Fascism.
This big money with the help of the corp. media has convinced the average citizen that socialism is a bad word, standing for unfair government control, and redistribution of wealth. What the average citizen forgets is that all government revenue is a redistribution of wealth, even in a fascist capitalist system. In the current fascist economy, it's only when this revenue gets redistributed to the poor is there a rabid outcry of unfairness. When billions in revenue gets redistributed into the pockets of the wealthy, there seems to be silence, like it's unquestionably a good idea, as in the Exxon's welfare program.
A President Sanders could level this playing field in a manner respectful of true democracy.....the kind enlightenment thinkers as well as our founders intended.
As much as I would love to see true Progressives like Bernie and Elizabeth Warren in the White House, I think they can do far more good in the Legislative branch.
Fascism: Centralized control by a few billionaires of private enterprise........Exxon, Walmart, Banksters, etc.! Other defining qualities include, repression of all opposition/competition..... again, big oil, Walmart, Banksters, etc. Also stringent socioeconomic controls and centralization under a dictator. In the United States that dictator is big money and the few who control our government with it.
Senator Sanders will bring an important voice for the many who are have none. His values embodies those of the New Democrats, Greens and other progressive liberals who feel disenfranchised by our present political system. To win or lose in the primary is not as important as creating the format to present critical thinking for specific solutions. We need solutions to global warming, job stimulus programs, single payer health care, green energy programs, affordable housing for single income families, increase in minimum wage, immigration reform, higher teacher salaries, lower class size, reduction in defense, prison and overlapping law enforcement, and an end to cannabis prohibition. Just to name a few. Thank you for the consideration, sir. It will be a worthy challenge only a few with courage like Bernie could pull off.
