Their "democans" are eating out of the same trough, they live in a different world from us mere former working stiffs.

BAU is ending because we have shipped too many jobs overseas, there are too many people & resources are in decline & becoming more expensive. With so many people out of work & those who still have jobs are earning less, they don't have enough disposable income to support the economy & the oil extractors aren't getting enough $ to keep drilling for expensive oil. The # of taxpayers is shrinking but the government won't tax the rich or big corporations so they have to borrow more to pay for their illegal wars, occupations & the bloated military. What do you think will happen if we default or can't borrow more $?

Now with long term unemployment ending, there will be even more poverty, more people needing aid from the governments & less $ to support it. We are in a downward spiral thanks to government policies, immigration & overpopulation. By ending long term unemployment, they will disappear from the unemployment figures so they can claim that unemployment has declined, a lie of course, just one of many lies the government has been telling us.

The fracking "boom" will soon go bust & we will have to import more oil to support the war machine. The only jobs left is in the military, burger flipping & low wage service jobs. There will be no recovery as this economy requires endless growth which in turn requires increased consumption of oil & other finite resources. No government can survive with a declining tax base & rising expenses so it will fall along with the economy. It dosen't matter which "party" is in charge, their much the same, fascist plutocrats.

Of course they haven't done enough. Many of them are greedy or frightened. We, the people, don't have to put up with this. It is time for us to get active. support good people and stay in touch after we get them elected. In the mean time, we had better make sure our friends and neighbors have heat and food to get through.

And while I am here, Iwanted to wish you the best. Here is my greeting card and haiku for the season.

Through darkest night

words of freedom singing peace

bring us together.

Love, Eliz

From Screwed:
"Hartmann speaks with the straight talking clarity and brilliance of a modern day Tom Paine as he exposes the intentional and systematic destruction of America’s middle class by an alliance of political con artists and outlines a program to restore it. This is Hartmann at his best. Essential reading for those interested in restoring the institution that made America the envy of the world."
David C. Korten, author of The Great Turning and When Corporations Rule the World
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom is a national treasure. Read him, embrace him, learn from him, and follow him as we all work for social change."
Robert Greenwald, political activist and founder and president of Brave New Films
From Screwed:
"Once again, Thom Hartmann hits the bull’s eye with a much needed exposé of the so-called ‘free market.’ Anyone concerned about the future of our nation needs to read Screwed now."
