The President is a Spiritual man. That is why he offered such a thing. It's what he would have appreciated from Romney - had the situation been reversed. Of course, Mitt would have never offered such a thing. (Don't you think Mitt knows this?) See...thats the difference between a Spiritual person and a religious person. The Spiritual know how the universe works. What you resist - persists. Being fearless is not brave - it's smart.

Hell no. Neobama already had Immelt as his outsourcing czar. Not to mention the small but important fact that Mitt is a fucking imbecile.

The way the YES answer is worded convinces me that this answer is a spoof, Thom. I can't believe that anyone, even a hardcore Rethug, would ever choose it. I'd love to know what's going through the heads (if anything) of those who voted YES!

Of course not! Romney constantly switched back and forth re: his positions on almost everything. We don't need more of that type of politics, we need LESS! Aside from that, he's not intellectual. He is simply a profit-oriented man who believes his money makes him right and powerful. And, for a so-called religious man, he's very hypocritical.

No, Romney needs to concentrate on being a grandfather to his multitude of grandkids. I wish President Obama would offer Bill Clinton the job as Secretary of State. It would just fry the Republicans who have actively campaigned to keep Susan Rice out so that they could buy John Kerry's senate seat for Scott Brown. It would be pretty hard to manufacture some conspiracy about Bill Clinton other then to bring up his past indiscretions with Monica Lewinski, which really has nothing to do with politics.

You've got to be kidding!! Romney is history and should remain so.

Forgetabout pretending to be conciliatory w/Romney...he doesn't deserve Obama's time nor will he add anything substantive to the administration. I realize this is a gesture of 'goodwill', but for what? The majority of Republicans cannot stand Romney, although he was all they had as a candidate for President, but behind the scenes, he is considered toxic to the GOP who are striving to re-identify themselves.

The body language in the photo of Romney and Obama at the White House said a lot. Obama's feet were pointed another way, suggesting, "I am ready to be out the door" and Obama had other hand in his pocket which could mean he feels uncomfortable, anxious, or using caution. Both men stood far apart and leaned in at angles to shake hands, without getting close. Staying as far apart as possible in the shaking-of-hands situation. Romney stood unnaturally with his other hand straight down, very unnatural pose. Romney looked very strained, Obama looked like he was forced to see someone he did not wish to see. Obama's thumb in the handshake was on top, which indicates the superior position.

Excellent Book Recommendation: What Every Body Is Saying, by Joe Nvarro. Ex-FBI AGent's Guit to Speed-Reading people, he tells the things FBI looks for in body language. You can't cover it up, it comes from the limbic system in the body.

Thom's Blog Is On the Move

Hello All

Thom's blog in this space and moving to a new home.

Please follow us across to hartmannreport.com - this will be the only place going forward to read Thom's blog posts and articles.

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"In an age rife with media-inspired confusion and political cowardice, we yearn for a decent, caring, deeply human soul whose grasp of the problems confronting us provides a light by which we can make our way through the quagmire of lies, distortions, pandering, and hollow self-puffery that strips the American Dream of its promise. How lucky we are, then, to have access to the wit, wisdom, and willingness of Thom Hartmann, who shares with us here that very light, grown out of his own life experience."
Mike Farrell, actor, political activist, and author of Just Call Me Mike and Of Mule and Man
From Cracking the Code:
"Thom Hartmann ought to be bronzed. His new book sets off from the same high plane as the last and offers explicit tools and how-to advice that will allow you to see, hear, and feel propaganda when it's directed at you and use the same techniques to refute it. His book would make a deaf-mute a better communicator. I want him on my reading table every day, and if you try one of his books, so will you."
Peter Coyote, actor and author of Sleeping Where I Fall
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Through compelling personal stories, Hartmann presents a dramatic and deeply disturbing picture of humans as a profoundly troubled species. Hope lies in his inspiring vision of our enormous unrealized potential and his description of the path to its realization."
David Korten, author of Agenda for a New Economy, The Great Turning, and When Corporations Rule the World
