Progressive groups are already putting ads in local newspapers, and sending out E-mails, so the fight continues and senators are being held accountable. Let's hope they can keep the momentum going until 2014 elections. Maybe they all won't pay the price come election day, but only enough to give the senate a 60 progressive majority is needed. Having the opponents on record is a tried and true method for elections. Let's hope it pays off. Some of these states, and I've lived in a few of them, are sparcely populated backwaters where macho is measured by the number of guns you have in the back of your pickup, where people can be easily swayed by NRA types and where sometimes the difference between Democrats and Republicans is tough to figure. Most of these gun toters are hunters, collectors, and target shooters. So who can say? Tougher times, lack of jobs and economic issues may play a bigger role toward cleaning House and Senate.

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Through compelling personal stories, Hartmann presents a dramatic and deeply disturbing picture of humans as a profoundly troubled species. Hope lies in his inspiring vision of our enormous unrealized potential and his description of the path to its realization."
David Korten, author of Agenda for a New Economy, The Great Turning, and When Corporations Rule the World
From Screwed:
"The powers that be are running roughshod over the powers that OUGHT to be. Hartmann tells us what went wrong — and what you and I can do to help set American right again."
Jim Hightower, National Radio Commentator, Writer, Public Speaker, and author of the bestselling Thieves in High Places
From Unequal Protection, 2nd Edition:
"Beneath the success and rise of American enterprise is an untold history that is antithetical to every value Americans hold dear. This is a seminal work, a godsend really, a clear message to every citizen about the need to reform our country, laws, and companies."
Paul Hawken, coauthor of Natural Capitalism and author of The Ecology of Commerce
