Yes to both options above, and you can add to that the spy program which has also enraged our allies while creating new enemies and has spied on millions of innocent people, both here and abroad for no apparent reason. The only thing I don't understand is why the United Nations has done nothing to stop the horrors this country is inflicting on the world at large? Certainly if the Dominican Republic or Bangladesh were commiting these atrocities, charges would have been filed against these countries and they would have been taken to the Hague. And there is no way I will ever believe that our President had no knowledge of the extent to which these atrocities were being carried out. At the least he should be required to return the Nobel Peace Prize. What is the purpose of the United Nations if it cannot keep ALL its members in line. If it cannot punish a country for obvious brutality being inflicted not only on its own people, but the people of foreign governments, then its existence should definitely be called into question.

Our drone murders have made us the msot hated country in the world and it's "collateral damage" is making more people into "terrorists".

In truth we are the worlds worse terrorist. Who else has the military to kill people at will anywhere in the world and get away with it?

We are above the law, we are a lawless, criminal country and we murder at will anywhere at any time, no one is safe from this terrorist government.

Someday some "terrorist" could send us a little gift of a drone strike or more upon Washington DC and kill some of "our" people.

The government in power is corrupt, unjust and criminal and does not represent we the people, the 95%, only the rich have a voice since now $$$$$$ is speech and corporations are "people".

I would love to see the progressive states seceed from this criminal government, leave them stuck with the red stated full of crazy religious retards. Then those free states would no longer have to be taxed to support those unjust, illegal endless wars and occupations or support the red states and their "conservative", retarded, backward governments.

What "national image" are you referring to? The former image of the US as peacemaker and defender of human rights, or the 21st century version where the dollar bill is king and "human" rights suffer while corporations gorge at the trough?

After eight years of dumbya all O has to offer is more of the same in this area. Who will be surprized WHEN the merchants of death sell drone defeating technology to the rest of the world, including the "terrarists", just to have the US taxpayer foot the bill for a new generation of remote control killing machines. Buy stock in Lockheed and the rest of the war profiteers. Don't forget that the cops are using these "toys" now too.

Hello All

Thom's blog in this space and moving to a new home.

Please follow us across to hartmannreport.com - this will be the only place going forward to read Thom's blog posts and articles.

From Screwed:
"Hartmann speaks with the straight talking clarity and brilliance of a modern day Tom Paine as he exposes the intentional and systematic destruction of America’s middle class by an alliance of political con artists and outlines a program to restore it. This is Hartmann at his best. Essential reading for those interested in restoring the institution that made America the envy of the world."
David C. Korten, author of The Great Turning and When Corporations Rule the World
From Cracking the Code:
"No one communicates more thoughtfully or effectively on the radio airwaves than Thom Hartmann. He gets inside the arguments and helps people to think them through—to understand how to respond when they’re talking about public issues with coworkers, neighbors, and friends. This book explores some of the key perspectives behind his approach, teaching us not just how to find the facts, but to talk about what they mean in a way that people will hear."
Paul Loeb, author of Soul of a Citizen
From Unequal Protection, 2nd Edition:
"Beneath the success and rise of American enterprise is an untold history that is antithetical to every value Americans hold dear. This is a seminal work, a godsend really, a clear message to every citizen about the need to reform our country, laws, and companies."
Paul Hawken, coauthor of Natural Capitalism and author of The Ecology of Commerce
