What is your solution if utilities were not operated for profit? I know some communities own their own utilities. Where I live, the electric company is a cooperative; however, we buy from an even larger cooperative who constantly upgrades equipment which means the cost is passed onto us.
What is your solution outside of Federal control which I would be opposed to.

There should not be a profit motive in anything that is for the commons, utilities,broadband,public transit etc.
