Bernie is both brilliant and concise. Thank you Thom for allowing the American people to hear the antidote to greed, fear, and hatred. Bless you both.

Please folks, week after week you hear Bernie Sanders say that the Prez has to take the case to the American people "that Democrats care for the American people.".Well,the fact that the Democrats are not doing what Bernie Sanders say means the Democrats don't care about the American people that much.Wake up folks,Obama just hired a JPMorgan stooge to be his adviser. You really think someone who worked for JPMorgan cares about the American people ?

You vote for these creeps, and they bring in the Corporate thieves,to advise 'em how to screw you even more.Wake up people.none of the 2 major political parties are virtuous.both are led by corrupt creeps.

"Rescission" is related to "rescind", but it is related to "scissors" too. They all have to do with cleaving.

Have you noticed now that every time a GOP opens his mouth he uses "Its What The American People want".? The Dems/Progressives have to take back the words The American People from the Republicans.

Re: Chris Hedges

I have been hearing that we have to vote for the lessor of the two evils for over 30 years now. It seems to me that until the corporate democrats can never win an election without listening to their working class base, they are not about to change. It's just a matter of time until the corporate democrats have made themselves totally irrelevant to the working class, and will fade from our memory.

I for one, am going to vote third party!

I'm not sure where to post this:

I want to correct a statement you made in your pre-recorded news bit (on LiveStream during the live show). Your conclusion is correct, but the terms used were incorrect.

You said one billion humans are facing starvation. Actually, technically, they are experiencing chronic malnutrition.

Starvation is where someone starves to death...the stereotypical bloated bellies we used to see on TV during the 1980s.

Chronically malnourished people do not get enough food and/or nutrition day in and day out. They are then unable to fight diseases like colds, diarrhea, etc. Then, they die from these diseases that a well nourished human being can fight easily.

Also, empowering women is the key, but reducing birth rates is best done by feeding a population. When the population's infant mortality rate falls, then the birth rate falls. Now, the best way to fight chronic hunger is to empower women.

Again, empowering women is the key, but that is because this is the best way to fight chronic hunger...which then leads to a lower birth rate.

American Stupidity

I need start my comment on the fact that American stupidity has no limits. Americans have a mind set that we are the greatest people on planet, Earth. The truth is that Americans are the most stupid people in the world. We grow up under massive propaganda that every thing we do is what the world needs.

We keep hearing that more money will fix our schools and massive amounts of money poured into education are the answer. I say nonsense to this mind set. Let me give you the problems facing our educational systems. We have school administrators who are lazy and they do not function as change agent to improve the teaching-learning situation. Classroom teachers teach to the standardized tests to leave the impression that their students are learning. American parents spoil their children. Their child can do no wrong and they are as bright as the sunlight. A babied school population leads to stupid children.

I read six articles from CEOs. Three CEOs were American and three CEOs were from foreign countries. Each CEO has said that they preferred hiring a foreign educated student over an American educated student. The reasons are better work habits and better problem-solving skills.

Our son works with a German national. I do not know whether or not he is studying to be an American citizen or not. This German educated has a working knowledge of eight languages – German, English, French, Italian, Swiss, Dutch, Polish, and the Czech Republic. The American mind set does not value foreign languages. This German national has had exposure to different cultures.

More money for American education does not mean we will have a better educated student. People who hire a person are well aware of the benefits of hiring a foreign educated student.

A Democratic U.S. Congresswoman was shot point blank in the head. The hatred that the Republican crazies are spreading against the Democrats are starting to take hold. The United States of Mortal Sin is a country that has gone totally mad and the demise of our hatefull country is imminent. May God have mercy on our souls that are destined to wallow in hell for eternity!!!

American Reichers

We are a nation of American Reichers. These are members of the American Fourth Reich, the most evil, vile, and wicked nation on the face of our planet. The Fourth Reich has Satan’s disciples leading our demise.

We are horrified to read of Hitler’s killing of eleven million people and Stalin’s killing of twenty-nine million human beings. But, in our country the American Reichers’ plan is to eliminate six point three billion human beings. But, our Reichwing rags never mention our dastardly plans for the killing and enslavement of human beings.

The American government has lunatics running our asylums. These lunatics are embedded with the American rich who control the Reichers Party. We have the fascist-Nazi American minions, aka Satan’s disciples, doing the dirty work. Nothing will ever change in a country that is swimming in a pool of mortal sin.

The fourth branch of the American government that is closely aligned with the American Fourth Reich is our Reichwing rags!

Frank Luntz is a brilliant American Reicher.

Homily, January 8-9, 2011

This weekend was Jesus’ baptism and to reveal to us His forgiveness of sins. With baptism the Holy Spirit is upon us and our forgiveness of sins. With our baptism we become children of God. Jesus was a king who was a servant. Jesus came upon the earth to be of service to us. In baptism we become prophets, priests, and kings (and queens). As human beings we have more that unites us and not divides us as part of the mystical bodies of Jesus Christ. If seventy percent of the country is Christian why should we hate our brothers and sisters?

In baptism the godparents are asked a question for the new born baby, “Do you renounce Satan and the response is I do.” Godparents are asked a second time, “Do you renounce Satan and all his works and the response is I do.”

We have Christians renouncing Satan as an infant but as an adult we are embedded with Satan and all his evil work.

The priest at the homily said that we should not be quick to react against God’s children. We should give in for now, let people be, and take it easy. With these words in mind we may be able to avoid more wars.

Transparency

We keep hearing why aren’t America and Obama more transparent? The truth is that our nation has been transparent since George Washington. We are an evil, vile, and wicked nation. The world can see through us and our dastardly ways.

Psychiatrists cannot openly certify our nation. But, they know according to psychiatric guidelines that we are a nation of certifiably psychos.

To be an American Reicher!

To be Republican is to have no inner core, no guiding principles, no ethics, no integrity and no basic philosophy (except tax cuts) no intent other than win at all costs.

They do not care about the people, jobs lost, mortgages foreclosed or the jobless losing their unemployment benefits.

Republicans are interested only in winning regardless of how it is done. Whatever methods, no matter how unscrupulous or duplicitous, whatever strategy for the moment is employed, defeat of the opposition is all that matters.

A promising career is cut short! Personally, I seriously doubt that Rep. Giffords will be back in politics. There is some question about the extent of her brain damage.

The judge who was killed in Arizona went to meet with Rep. Giffords and thank her for helping him with some kind of legislation. The nine year old girl went to the rally because she had a great interest in politics. These killings were senseless. Please my fellow Americans can you now reconize the madness that has taken hold of us? We are a country that has gone completely mad. Why are the vast majority of Americans so insane?

Thom's Blog Is On the Move

Hello All

Thom's blog in this space and moving to a new home.

Please follow us across to hartmannreport.com - this will be the only place going forward to read Thom's blog posts and articles.

From Cracking the Code:
"In Cracking the Code, Thom Hartmann, America’s most popular, informed, and articulate progressive talk show host and political analyst, tells us what makes humans vulnerable to unscrupulous propagandists and what we can do about it. It is essential reading for all Americans who are fed up with right-wing extremists manipulating our minds and politics to promote agendas contrary to our core values and interests."
David C. Korten, author of The Great Turning: From Empire to Earth Community and When Corporations Rule the World and board chair of YES! magazine
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Right through the worst of the Bush years and into the present, Thom Hartmann has been one of the very few voices constantly willing to tell the truth. Rank him up there with Jon Stewart, Bill Moyers, and Paul Krugman for having the sheer persistent courage of his convictions."
Bill McKibben, author of Eaarth
From Cracking the Code:
"Thom Hartmann ought to be bronzed. His new book sets off from the same high plane as the last and offers explicit tools and how-to advice that will allow you to see, hear, and feel propaganda when it's directed at you and use the same techniques to refute it. His book would make a deaf-mute a better communicator. I want him on my reading table every day, and if you try one of his books, so will you."
Peter Coyote, actor and author of Sleeping Where I Fall
