Shoes were delivered to the White House on Wed.
Now I'm hearing from others that have sent a pair.
If you can, join in. Maybe our good President will finally join a fight he can win.

Notes from the Church’s Newsletter

Faith requires that we listen with our hearts and live according to God’s will. Faith does not consist in a formal and superficial conforming to the words in the Holy Bible. Faith is deeper and more radical level by putting Jesus’ words in your heart and soul. We are to do the will of God out of love. We are called to make the world a place of liberation for all. We are taught as Catholics that the way to peace is justice, such as economic justice. We are called as ordinary persons to build a society in which everyone has an opportunity for an education, health care, and a decent standard of living. We need to pray for the wisdom to know to be fair to all.

Thom - Please see this article about the Texas abortion bill. http://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/texas-legislature/headlines/2011...

Rather than requiring the sonogram on the belly that you always see on tv, this bill requires a trans-vaginal ultrasound, which is an intrusive that literally puts the probe up the vaginal canal. Especially in the case of rape and incest victims, this can be traumatizing. This bill is about humiliating anyone who considers having an abortion.

From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom Hartmann is a creative thinker and committed small-d democrat. He has dealt with a wide range of topics throughout his life, and this book provides an excellent cross section. The Thom Hartmann Reader will make people both angry and motivated to act."
Dean Baker, economist and author of Plunder and Blunder, False Profits, and Taking Economics Seriously
From Cracking the Code:
"No one communicates more thoughtfully or effectively on the radio airwaves than Thom Hartmann. He gets inside the arguments and helps people to think them through—to understand how to respond when they’re talking about public issues with coworkers, neighbors, and friends. This book explores some of the key perspectives behind his approach, teaching us not just how to find the facts, but to talk about what they mean in a way that people will hear."
Paul Loeb, author of Soul of a Citizen
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Right through the worst of the Bush years and into the present, Thom Hartmann has been one of the very few voices constantly willing to tell the truth. Rank him up there with Jon Stewart, Bill Moyers, and Paul Krugman for having the sheer persistent courage of his convictions."
Bill McKibben, author of Eaarth
