How about our own Grover Nordquist style pledge to get the big money out of politics? No politicians will stand up right now, but maybe some sort of 'when there is a critical mass.. I will support..'

The Norquist pledge was like promising to never turn left when driving.. (actually, two wrongs don't make a right but three lefts will) but this could be a proper ideological standpoint.

Yes there would be pressure from current donors but in the end they should all be in the same boat.. Hard to short circuit the super pacs though.
RE Perry's ad against Pres. Obama;
Right now people are looking at this and recognizing how it is dishonest and out of context. Fine.
It's getting some attention, which is what he wanted, and it feeds his base a bit, like nascar..

Do you realize how much crap is going to be thrown by the un-limited and un-accountable PACs just before the election, with enough time to have an effect but not enough to be countered? This will make Swift Boaters look like a picket line of silent nuns. There will be any sort of muslin, terriorst, Rupert Murdoch sourced garbage they can imagine.

If you are surrounded by monkeys flinging feces, you can say, well, they are just monkeys, but you still end up covered in sh*t.

Good luck,

Hello All

From Cracking the Code:
"In Cracking the Code, Thom Hartmann, America’s most popular, informed, and articulate progressive talk show host and political analyst, tells us what makes humans vulnerable to unscrupulous propagandists and what we can do about it. It is essential reading for all Americans who are fed up with right-wing extremists manipulating our minds and politics to promote agendas contrary to our core values and interests."
David C. Korten, author of The Great Turning: From Empire to Earth Community and When Corporations Rule the World and board chair of YES! magazine
From Screwed:
"If we are going to live in a Democracy, we need to have a healthy middle class. Thom Hartmann shows us how the ‘cons’ have wronged this country, and tells us what needs to be done to reclaim what it is to be American."
Eric Utne, Founder, Utne magazine
From Cracking the Code:
"No one communicates more thoughtfully or effectively on the radio airwaves than Thom Hartmann. He gets inside the arguments and helps people to think them through—to understand how to respond when they’re talking about public issues with coworkers, neighbors, and friends. This book explores some of the key perspectives behind his approach, teaching us not just how to find the facts, but to talk about what they mean in a way that people will hear."
