I've been checking out one of the Occupy Wall St Facebook pages for the past few weeks, and I noticed over the past couple of days there has been a few of the right wing trolls posting links about sex activity among the demonstrators. Prior to this, they were almost uniformly calling the OWS participants Communists and sometimes Socialists. Now I hear Thom's guest Curtis Sliwa repeatedly call the participants Copulaters and Fornicators. It seems to me that the Right is getting desperate, since they couldn't get traction with the Communist/Socialist labels, they've switched to trying to paint them as Sexual deviants, or at least they imply it as such. I think it is further evidence that the right wing mind is lizard like, they're trying to find a simple concept to smear the OWS movement with, that will cause people to fear it. Personally I think they have to try harder, this isn't the 1950's anymore, the average American is no longer scared of Communists or Sex. I guess rampant drug use will be the next smear campaign, its already being setup by authorities redirecting drunks and homeless to the OWS site. Guess they haven't figured out that even those that would under normal economic conditions prick up their ears to the dog whistling fears, they are more afraid of losing their jobs and homes. In other words they have some real skin in the game, and straw man arguments just will not gain traction.

It is amusing to listen to the right wingers scream about their silly fears, it shows them for who they are down deep and how insignificant they're concerns are and how far out they are of the mainstream loop.

From Cracking the Code:
"No one communicates more thoughtfully or effectively on the radio airwaves than Thom Hartmann. He gets inside the arguments and helps people to think them through—to understand how to respond when they’re talking about public issues with coworkers, neighbors, and friends. This book explores some of the key perspectives behind his approach, teaching us not just how to find the facts, but to talk about what they mean in a way that people will hear."
Paul Loeb, author of Soul of a Citizen
From Screwed:
"If we are going to live in a Democracy, we need to have a healthy middle class. Thom Hartmann shows us how the ‘cons’ have wronged this country, and tells us what needs to be done to reclaim what it is to be American."
Eric Utne, Founder, Utne magazine
From Cracking the Code:
"Thom Hartmann ought to be bronzed. His new book sets off from the same high plane as the last and offers explicit tools and how-to advice that will allow you to see, hear, and feel propaganda when it's directed at you and use the same techniques to refute it. His book would make a deaf-mute a better communicator. I want him on my reading table every day, and if you try one of his books, so will you."
Peter Coyote, actor and author of Sleeping Where I Fall
