If Romney had won, I would have posted a quote from the Bible on Facebook. I didn't get around to looking it up, but it's the part where the people of Jerusalem ask for Barabbas the criminal instead of Jesus the wiseman.

Re. values v. demographics in the election:

Two factors that played a part in the Obama win are: 1) The reasonable GOP candidates were weeded out early on in the primary and only the crazies and extreme ideologues were left standing. 2) A caller today mentioned that the welfare queen myth was debunked. A caller on Thom's or another show a while back; ---I think the context was the occupy movement--- said that with the declining middle class, people losing homes, people can't afford health care, etc.; a lot of whites were experiencing or seeing friends and relatives experience, what minorities had had to endure for generations.

The game of Monopoly has a few rules but I've never heard a libertarian suggest that those rules be done away with. That suggestion would be blatantly absurd because the game wouldn't work any more. However, they reserve that suggestion for the real world.

From Screwed:
"The powers that be are running roughshod over the powers that OUGHT to be. Hartmann tells us what went wrong — and what you and I can do to help set American right again."
Jim Hightower, National Radio Commentator, Writer, Public Speaker, and author of the bestselling Thieves in High Places
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Right through the worst of the Bush years and into the present, Thom Hartmann has been one of the very few voices constantly willing to tell the truth. Rank him up there with Jon Stewart, Bill Moyers, and Paul Krugman for having the sheer persistent courage of his convictions."
Bill McKibben, author of Eaarth
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Thom Hartmann is a literary descendent of Ben Franklin and Tom Paine. His unflinching observations and deep passion inspire us to explore contemporary culture, politics, and economics; challenge us to face the facts of the societies we are creating; and empower us to demand a better world for our children and grandchildren."
John Perkins, author of the New York Times bestselling book Confessions of an Economic Hit Man
