On Thursday 7/11 Thom interviewed Ted Nordhaus from The Breakthrough Institute (TBI). Ted and his co-founder Michael Shellenberger both seem to be DINOs that have been pretending to be progressives but are supported by and draw much of the scientific 'expertise' from climate deniers like Bjorn Lomborg & Roger A. Pielke Jr. According to Source Watch Lomborg & Pielkeare the "go-to 'progressives'" that are "...hugely influential in providing cover to politicians, climate-change deniers, and corporations that don't want any part of controls on greenhouse emissions".

Also, according to Source Watch, TBI is not a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; it operates under the umbrella of nonprofit Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, so it files no IRS Form 990s documenting revenues, programs or expenditures.

According to Think Progress, since 2009 "The Breakthrough Institute (TBI) has dedicated the resources of their organization to trying to kill prospects for climate and clean energy action in this Congress and to spreading disinformation about Obama, Gore, Congressional leaders, Waxman and Markey, leading climate scientists, Al Gore again, the entire environmental community and anyone else trying to end our status quo energy policies."

Thom, I really appreciate you and your show and I understand that you are trying to show us how to have civil discussions (arguments) with co-workers around the water cooler and the crazy uncle at Thanksgiving dinner. However, as busy as you are, I really wish that you or your show staff would research guys like this before you speak with them so that they can't get away with their obvious propaganda pitch on the unsuspecting or uninformed listener. The right is really good at using the big lie, and how one uncovers the big lie is an important part of the lesson on 'how to discuss.

Thanks for your tireless work.
