I am afraid we will be seeing more needless carnage due to budget cuts, but perish the thought that the Air Force should have to fund raise for a new bomber or the Army fundraise for a new tank because our tax money was used for keeping more fire stations open.

I'm afraid that we'll see more of this. i'm hoping that somehow - maybe through current Union efforts in Wisconsin or some such (like all of us getting active) we can encourage or mandate the rich contributing their fair share... how about 25% of their income, no write offs?

Now that people are waking up and realizing the state that this Country is in is bad unemployment, high food prices... Maybe, just maybe they will take further action. Such as selling their stock in Koch industries and their subsideraries! Boycott, Boycott, Boycott, this can be done it has worked in the past and it can work again. These people cannot hold on to all of that money they need to live too. Maybe then they will see what its like with the everyday person. Don't leasve it at the Koch brothers steps there are more players in this senereo. BP, Exxon Mobile and yeh whats up with CLEAN COAL! Coal is not clean when your burn it, if you touch it you end up with residue on your hands.

From Screwed:
"If we are going to live in a Democracy, we need to have a healthy middle class. Thom Hartmann shows us how the ‘cons’ have wronged this country, and tells us what needs to be done to reclaim what it is to be American."
Eric Utne, Founder, Utne magazine
From Cracking the Code:
"No one communicates more thoughtfully or effectively on the radio airwaves than Thom Hartmann. He gets inside the arguments and helps people to think them through—to understand how to respond when they’re talking about public issues with coworkers, neighbors, and friends. This book explores some of the key perspectives behind his approach, teaching us not just how to find the facts, but to talk about what they mean in a way that people will hear."
Paul Loeb, author of Soul of a Citizen
From Screwed:
"Hartmann speaks with the straight talking clarity and brilliance of a modern day Tom Paine as he exposes the intentional and systematic destruction of America’s middle class by an alliance of political con artists and outlines a program to restore it. This is Hartmann at his best. Essential reading for those interested in restoring the institution that made America the envy of the world."
David C. Korten, author of The Great Turning and When Corporations Rule the World
