Closing Guantanamo was one of the very first things President Obama said he was going to do, and there is no way that the GOP was going to give him that satisfaction on a task that should have been easy. Once Rush Limbaugh made the admission that he did not want Obama to succeed, the dye was cast and it became their commitment. We may not be thrilled with many of President Obama's positions, but I do often marvel that he has been able to withstand so much. That the people are so gullible that they think he could have thwarted, by himself, the middle class destruction agenda by the GOP is unreasonable. Wisconsin has shown us what needs to happen, and that is the people showing up en-masse and to stand behind him to make him do what we need done.

"Thom is a national treasure. Read him, embrace him, learn from him, and follow him as we all work for social change."
Robert Greenwald, political activist and founder and president of Brave New Films
From Screwed:
"If we are going to live in a Democracy, we need to have a healthy middle class. Thom Hartmann shows us how the ‘cons’ have wronged this country, and tells us what needs to be done to reclaim what it is to be American."
Eric Utne, Founder, Utne magazine
From Cracking the Code:
"No one communicates more thoughtfully or effectively on the radio airwaves than Thom Hartmann. He gets inside the arguments and helps people to think them through—to understand how to respond when they’re talking about public issues with coworkers, neighbors, and friends. This book explores some of the key perspectives behind his approach, teaching us not just how to find the facts, but to talk about what they mean in a way that people will hear."
Paul Loeb, author of Soul of a Citizen
