I am truly amazed as to how shallow the Democrats are. A win here and a win there and they are preaching that Satan’s disciples are changing. Let me state it here and please you must never forget – ONE SWALLOW DOES NOT MAKE A SPRING!!! That is correct! ONE SWALLOW DOES NOT MAKE A SPRING!!! You have heard the saying – the more things change, the more they remain the same!!! No one can change the stripes on a zebra and no one can change the stripes on Satan’s disciples. So not surprising that spin doctors like Gerald have to resort to name calling and intent to appear better or more holy. What a croc. Yay for the possibility that people are starting to wake up about what it means to be a RepupliCON in this time period. Rather, how they are bought and paid for and how they only know how to throw insults when they are confronted about how they are really not fiscally conservative. They are just CONS.
A good outing for the Democrats. But with them now talking about cuts to Medicare, they're going to give away this advantage. There will be no long-term gain for the Democrats because they're economic and political idiots.
I voted no, not because I don't wish that yes was so, but I want for us not get too comfortable. This Hochul victory was much needed and appreciated, but we can't stop the fight. As we know, nothing has really changed with our elections funding, we haven't accomplished getting all paper ballots, we haven't changed one iota of the Citizens United decision by SCOTUS, adjusted or reversed, and no criminal charges have been brought against the manipulation and theft of votes going back to 2000. (Velvet Revolution people have tried with all the above, and kudos to them.)
And to the above commentator, gerald, who thinks we think that "Satan’s disciples are changing," don't count me in on that, I know we face some very calcified thinking who believe what they believe because it comes from their guts and that is where they think their brains are located. (Some of those people also think that the planet is only 6,000 years old.
I voted yes as it was a "hopeful" yes but on Lawrence O'Donnell the other day, he pointed out to Michael Moore "so how are the Democrats going to mess this up". It seems we have been handed a golden opportunity and like the past when we had the ability to have such a good talking point, we messed it up. It seems as though some in Congress have it together but I worry about the ones who often do not make their message clear. The division is simple "for the people" or "for the corporations". The argument not so simple. It seems to me, that when you have people on the right side of the aisle fighting terribly hard to promote their idealism, they will not let it go and would never admit to be wrong in their approach. I look at it like the "rapture" Christians. It did not come so they are moving on to the next date. There will always be another date just like in the Rethug party their is always a reason why Hockul was nominated etc... They will not admit to being wrong. So there you have a conundrum, you have Hoyer coming to the table in the House saying Medicare is on the table without stating specifics and that gives that slight wedge, the ever so slight argument to the Reps. The argument gets changed over time and Dems lose the field. So I answered yes out of hope but I honestly worry we will lose the golden egg that was handed us if we can't get our mind straight on the issues.
