Now that the oil reserves have been tapped along with assistance by other countries, the Republicans are beside themselves. Just look how Cantor ran out of debt negotiations today! Republicans aren't even listening to their Wall Street donors.They would rather default than allow the possiblity for the economy to recover, in fear that it will show Mr. Obama in a favorable light to the voters. Their hatred of the President and the American people is just that strong. Romney ranted obscenely that it's "immoral" to provide aid and rebuilding assistance to the tornado and flood victims. When will this unpatriotic, treasonous behavior will be criminally prosecuted?
Ironically, these are Republican states, where so much devestation is occuring, many of whom were so vituperative, railing against Democratic ideas and democratic principles, until their lives were devestated.! I have liitle to lose, if we default on the debt. However these very same people will be very unhappy when their money becomes worthless.I pray that Mr. Obama calls their bluff, if they do not raise the debt ceiling.
President Obama's own actions will be largely responsible for his defeat in 2012, if that happens. The Republicans can't seem to get it together so Obama's defeat is unlikely but let's tell it like it is: What a disappointment he has been! I wrote a letter to whitehouse.gov this morning asking him: Who is pulling your strings? What I really want to know is: Who is the real Barack Obama... ???
It is so disheartening to witness the steady erosion of living standards and the increasing numbers of people -- entire families -- now living on the street while our President who promised CHANGE -- and YES! We Can! has sided with the crooks. Moreover, he continues the Bush legacy -- may even be going Bush one better -- waging costly wars that are killing people in our name for no reason. And this man was given the Nobel Peace Prize?
If there were another option, I would definitely choose it. A Republican -- Never! That is the party of sanctimonious insanity, but surely we can come up with something better than what the Democrats are giving us. Let's start a new party... a Progressives for Peace party. And let's face the fact that the choices we have been given to date are just not viable. They are not working and we need to find the courage to demand something else.
