I don't even think he will feign a strong stand. President Obama has worked his ass off alienating liberals and essentially insulting them for 3 straight years.....and I am afraid he may see the results of that in the 2012 election. I will still vote for him of course...but I would bet my house that a lot on the Left simply will sit out 2012....which could bring in the nightmare scenario...President Perry and Repubs controlling BOTH the House AND and the Senate. I swear I would be my at my wit's end then.
I get sick every time I think of that. Bush has really made his mantra of fear a reality for us. Now we fear the GOP.
I certainly wish he'd go FDR, but nothing so far has shown he will.
I'm so disillusioned. I know he's battled nothing but the Party of NO! and fillibusters even when they had the majority.

I agree. We are great for eating our own, knowing it will make us sick then spend years angerly crying about how ill we feel.
For people not showing up I will blame the citizens. I will blame Obama for not giving them a reason to. "Organizing democrats is like herding cats" is so true. Obama cannot herd cats with a spray bottle. Watching our "champion" bow down to the clowns arcoss the aisle on anything and everything, bothers me to no end. I am not a beta. I cannot just sit back and go along with crap.When I have to argue with teabaggers and Obama is kissing Cantor's ring then what more can I say?
We have been fighting with the GOP/teabaggers for a decade now. We would hope our champion would show up and lay down the law and settle things. But he doesnt. He wants us to lay down our arms during battle and be the better people and at the same time teaches the GOP better stomping techniques to use on a prone, unarmed enemy.
I was a diehard Obama supporter and would like to be again but my faith is so rattled. No one can be that naive to watch his coworkers talk about taking him out all the time then submit to them. He cant be dumb enough to think that only good will come from that.
I would bet he will continue to work in the best interests of those with the money. If he gets the votes to be re-elected, and somehow manages to beat the likely senario of republican theft of our election process again, only then might he work towards the interest of the masses as he has no need to continue campaigning. I think too much confidence has been lost in our election process, and there will be weak voter turn out. We are getting what we deserve as a country of uninformed nonparticipatory citizens!
Obama will BETRAY the PEOPLE over Corporate interests as usual, the "HOPE" of "YES WE CAN" died on arrival. I, like many others, supported Obama in 2008 with $$$ and my VOTE, 2012 will be different, voting for other than the two major parties may be my message. An excellent choice would be an administration made up of the likes of Bernie Sanders/Dennis Kucinich, Alan Grayson, Anthony Wiener, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Sheila Jackson-Lee, etc. Now this IS "CHANGE WE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN". Time is coming for the "Rumble of the People"!

Unfortunately Obama is bought and paid for. He won't go bold and act like Truman or FDR. He idolizes Reagan. Enough said. We were fooled 3 years ago. In a do-over Hilary wins hands down. But in a perfect world Bernie or Russ Fiengold would be prez.
Obama will continue to push for the interests of the elite and crush the hopes and dreams of the average man and woman. What else can one expect from a center-right Republican president?
Whenever Obana gives a speech, he seems detached, no matter what he is talking about and sounds insincere most of the time. It is like he is reading a weather report. I hear his speech on the radio every Sat. morning and it sounds insincere. There is no emphasis, fire, passion, in his words.
Probably he can't say what he wants to say because the President is just a pawn for the world's elite.
Only liberals would wish for their more Bush than Bush Obama to be more like FDR and Truman.
I'm not wanting your Obamanable One to emulate FDR — to manufacture a "Pearl Harbor" to get near everyone to quickly volunteer for a full-spectrum global war between fascists... as FDR did to eliminate any possibility for socialism to be successful.

The "progressives" are the liberals who vote for Democrats so they can keep protesting against what they keep voting for.

When a powerful grassroots movement challenges the corporate Dems, they'll change. The corporate elites, who couldn't care less what country they live in, will rule until then. One thing is sure; in a few years, if things don't change, America will have a struggling middle class (mostly older) and a huge underclass with no job security, low pay, and no pensions. Resentment about public sector pensions and ss, medicare, and maybe the wars, will drive politics for some time.
Besides, nothing much happens from the top down. FDR acted in part because he was afraid of a revolution. We need to think about a peaceful revolt.

I would give my right arm as well as my left arm if Obama would somehow transform himself into FDR. In fact I'll throw in my left leg too. But he won't.....it just won't happen. I so wish I could say I felt optimistic about the future of this country and the future for my children and grand children...but I don't...and why would I? Without a shred of real evidence to imply the future looks good....
My head hurts from trying to figure out why President Obama has chosen to NOT be a progressive Democrat. Am I naive to think that the evil and sinister Republicans can be stopped from bulldozing over the Constitution and wiping out the Middle Class and the American Dream? I've never felt so helpless and so scared in my life.
Would a sitting President ever sit down for a lengthy interview to answer why they're doing what they're doing? Why they've done what they've done? Why they haven't done what they haven't done?
Not only is Obama turning out to be a woos, he is also an economic moron. Big business would have to spend money on labor (jobs) and equipment (more jobs) and materials (yet more jobs) in order to follow the new EPA regulations. What did Obama do? He suspended the EPA regulations! He just does not get it. Cutting costs for big business does NOT create jobs. It destroys jobs!
I contributed to Obama's 2008 campaign starting in 2007. This year he can go to the Koch brothers for contributions. Fat chance that one!
No, he'll back out again. J ust like he' has done for the last 2/1/2 years. The real problemis what can be done that will make a difference. He continues to defer/comprise to the Republicans so how can you reach him.
