Images of Thom
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Through compelling personal stories, Hartmann presents a dramatic and deeply disturbing picture of humans as a profoundly troubled species. Hope lies in his inspiring vision of our enormous unrealized potential and his description of the path to its realization."
—David Korten, author of Agenda for a New Economy, The Great Turning, and When Corporations Rule the World
From Cracking the Code:
"No one communicates more thoughtfully or effectively on the radio airwaves than Thom Hartmann. He gets inside the arguments and helps people to think them through—to understand how to respond when they’re talking about public issues with coworkers, neighbors, and friends. This book explores some of the key perspectives behind his approach, teaching us not just how to find the facts, but to talk about what they mean in a way that people will hear."

From Screwed:
"If we are going to live in a Democracy, we need to have a healthy middle class. Thom Hartmann shows us how the ‘cons’ have wronged this country, and tells us what needs to be done to reclaim what it is to be American."
—Eric Utne, Founder, Utne magazine

Propaganda is propaganda whether it is "fake news'"" or factual news misrepresented to manipulate; it is the deliberate manipulation of the recipient that matters.
There were far too few choices as ususal. My wife gets her news from sources like Good Morning America. This is a sore issue between us. I get my news from people I trust like Thom Hartman, Amy and Juan at Democracy, now and a critical revirw of mainstream print and media broadcasts.
The MSM didn't fake news, it didn't report anything that would upset their ongoing manufacturing of the status quo. In the 50's I watched an AP wire continuously crank out news, about every half hour, it would print out a synopsis for the talking head to read. I asked if anyone ever read the stuff in between synopsis, nah. The internet is the end of managed news. The internet news sources will now have to include all of the news in between.
Why the fuss all of a sudden about fake news? FOX News has been spreading nothing but fake news for eons. Remember O'Reilly and "Tiller the Baby Killer?"
Fake news, Manual? Let's review:
ABC News fake story about Food Lion selling out of date meat.
CBS News fake story on GW Bush being AWOL using fake documents.
NBC News fake story on gas tank explosions of GM vehicles.
Do I even need to mention Brian Williams?
Rolling Stone Mag fake story about rape on campus.
NYT numerous fake news stories. Jayson Blair anyone?
I could go on but you get the message.
Why do you only focus on Fox News and not the other MSM? Ah, you obviously have a grudge against Fox News.
While some news may actually be made up stories it is not the primary isue of "fake news". The real isue is almost every news reporter or news comentator choosing what to report, or what not to report. By repoprting what fits and skiping what doesn't an overall imag is created of a reality that is one sided.
