A Reoccurring Nightmare

When the brown shirted Bush was in the White House, I experienced a nightmare. Even though he has been removed from the White House, this nightmare has reoccurred from time to time. Here is my reoccurring nightmare.

Her name was B.J.

My dreams are more like nightmares that I cannot shake. Here is one of my nightmares.

Her actual name was Barbara Jenna Doe. B.J. was an all American young lady – attractive, intelligent, a vibrant personality who made people feel good. She was planning to go to Yale in the fall. B.J. did very well on her SAT and ACT tests. Her summer was planned in preparation to attend Yale in September.

The military draft was reinstated and so the sons and daughters of the poor and the middle class were drafted. B.J. received her letter to report to boot Camp in mid-August. In December B.J. came home for Christmas. Her parents were excited to see her. Daddy had a gleam in his eye every time B.J. was home. Barbara Jenna looked sharp and impressive in her formal military uniform. Her parents were proud of her.

After Christmas B.J. returned to camp and in mid-January B.J. and her company received orders that they were going to attack Iran as part of Bush’s Christmas wish list through more lies. In mid-February her parents received the dreaded letter saying that Barbara Jenna Doe was killed in action. The letter did not reveal how she was killed but friends were able to find out that BJ’s truck hit a land mine. The truck exploded and her one leg went through the window of a nearby building; her one arm slammed against a wall of a building; her torso remained with the truck; and her head went through the windshield of the truck and rolled down the street and stopped at a curb. What a waste of human potential to be killed for the Bush lies.

B.J. was not like one of Bush Sr.’s fourteen grandchildren who have never served in the military services. She was drafted and she had to serve in the military armed services.

Geeky Science

How Brilliant Computer Scientists Solved the Bermuda Triangle Mystery

Natural gas—the kind that heats ovens and boils water—specifically methane, is the culprit behind the mysterious disappearances and loss of water and air craft.

The evidence for this astounding new insight into a mystery that's bedeviled the world is laid out in a research paper published in the American Journal of Physics...

...The methane—normally frozen at great pressure as gas hydrates embedded within subterranean rock—can become dislodged and transform into gaseous bubbles expanding geometrically as they explode upwards. When these bubbles reach the surface of the water they soar into the air, still expanding upwards and outwards.

Any ships caught within the methane mega-bubble immediately lose all buoyancy and sink to the bottom of the ocean. If the bubbles are big enough and possess a high enough density they can also knock aircraft out of the sky with little or no warning. Aircraft falling victim to these methane bubbles will lose their engines-perhaps igniting the methane surrounding them-and immediately lose their lift as well, ending their flights by diving into the ocean and swiftly plummeting

Morning Joe and Germany??!!

JUST before I walked into the room to discover I'd forgotten to shut off the TV before that JERK say: "Germany, now THERE's a Country that has it all together." He then went into all the good economic numbers coming out of Germany.

I could only think-My GOD, the Jerk has woken up!! I "thought* too soon.

He followed it by going into a rant about how they did it ALL through "cutting spending, getting rid of needless entitlement programs and Unions"HOW the HELL can this JERK get away with saying that on National TV??!!! I *thought* that was Murdoch's lawsuit that said it was FINE to "Lie" on "Entertainment networks"--WTF does "Morning Joe" promote itself as?? NEWS or entertainment??!!nevermind...I know the answer to that....

Re: Money

No, it's not about money, It's all about greed. It's about an ego so big, that it only thinks about itself.

Rightwing callers are really nuts. They don't want to pay for "educating other people's kids"? They don't want to pay one cent for anything (although they want every benefit this country offers). How exactly are poor people supposed to pay for education for their kids? Same with health care. If you can't afford it, you don't deserve to have it. That is a terrible attitude. So un-American and so cruel.

(And I wish Thom had asked that last caller how much he was willing to pay someone to cut his grass. His attitude was that they should accept any amount, no matter how small, and he was outraged that they didn't. The same attitude conservatives have toward working people.)

Honestly, I'd like to have enough money to not "have" to work either. But if I didn't have to work, I'd be able to volunteer. Because what is the use in being shiftless? Why do conservatives love the shiftless wealthy?

To the caller (Mike the moron) who wants to live in a million dollar house without working or doing anything to earn it. May I suggest you contact someone like Paris Hilton and ask how she does it. I'm sure the eliminating of the "Death Tax" and minimal Capital Gains taxes will have something to do with it... oh and also having an obscenely wealthy family couldn't hurt. (There's your infamous welfare queen, idgit)

The caller LIED to you, THOM!

The XM radio channel 167 "America Left" DOES NOT play your show live! They play "The Ed Schultz Show" during that time (12 - 3 p.m. EST). Your show is played on delay from 3 - 6 p.m. EST. I know because I sometimes listen to your show on XM during my drive home from work. Right now, I'm listening to you live via the KTLK web site.

So when you asked the caller if he was listening to you live and he replied that he was listening to you on XM, he LIED!

He did? I could have sworn that I heard him say he was listening on America Left, the XM channel (which is a different channel than Sirius Left). I don't doubt you, you may very well be right. I'll check it out when Thom's show comes on XM... ;-)

Why did John Kerry conceed defeat so quickly?

Remember, he's a Skull & Bones' member, just like W. I would surely assume that this brotherhood would mean more to Kerry than any presidential hopes that he hed. Kerry was an electoral shill, or perhaps patsy, so W could get elected ......Just like when Kerry oversaw the Iran-Contra hearings!

THanks!

It sounds like the education of men would also be important. Or enlightenment of men. Because educated/enlightened men wouldn't want their women/wives/daughters to be treated like dirt. Equality also wouldn't hurt.

Sen. Bernie Sanders response to a caller's question about ending the insane Afghanistan war was once again reflexively answered with the Osama Bin Laden 9/11 mythology. Either the Senator knows little beyond the totally unsupportable official conspiracy theory, or that he does know, and for whatever reason, can't and won't discuss it. This event was the genesis of the immoral and genocidal wars and the immense disaster we are all now in. There is nearly a universal code of silence on this subject in almost all media, including Thom's show. No elected official of our government ever says anything beyond what the Senator said much to the detriment of the country and the world.

Why the Web of Life is Dying...

Could you survive with just half of your organs? Think about it. What if you had just half your brain, one kidney, half of your heart, one lung, half a liver and only half of your skin? It would be pretty hard to survive right? Sure, you could survive losing just one kidney or half of your liver, but at some point, losing pieces from all of your organs would be too much and you would die.

From Cracking the Code:
"Thom Hartmann ought to be bronzed. His new book sets off from the same high plane as the last and offers explicit tools and how-to advice that will allow you to see, hear, and feel propaganda when it's directed at you and use the same techniques to refute it. His book would make a deaf-mute a better communicator. I want him on my reading table every day, and if you try one of his books, so will you."
Peter Coyote, actor and author of Sleeping Where I Fall
From The Thom Hartmann Reader:
"Right through the worst of the Bush years and into the present, Thom Hartmann has been one of the very few voices constantly willing to tell the truth. Rank him up there with Jon Stewart, Bill Moyers, and Paul Krugman for having the sheer persistent courage of his convictions."
Bill McKibben, author of Eaarth
From Screwed:
"Once again, Thom Hartmann hits the bull’s eye with a much needed exposé of the so-called ‘free market.’ Anyone concerned about the future of our nation needs to read Screwed now."
Michael Toms, Founding President, New Dimensions World Broadcasting Network and author of A Time For Choices: Deep Dialogues for Deep Democracy
