Despite what you might have seen on cable news networks Fox News and CNN, the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare today – ruling that Congress does have the power to penalize Americans who don’t buy health insurance – which was how the individual mandate works. Chief Justice John Roberts was the swing vote – siding with the four justices on the left to uphold the law.

One day after the Supreme Court struck down nearly the entirety of Arizona's controversial anti-immigration law SB-1070 – prompting a blatant political attack against the President by Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia – one of the top ranking Republicans in the Senate – Jon Kyl – is suggesting President Obama could be impeached over his handling of immigration enforcement.

The Supreme Court had a chance to correct its mistake with Citizens United today – but chose not to.  In another 5-to-4 ruling, the Conservative justices struck down a Montana law that banned corporate spending in state elections – and ruled that it’s 2010 Citizens United decision applies not just to federal elections – but state elections as well.
