"Renaissance Thinking About the Issues of Our Day"
I consider whole body scanning to be an unacceptable invasion of privacy. It's good to know there's an alternative choice, unpleasant as it may be:
I employ all Americans to calls the senators on the following list. These are the senators that voted NO to extend employment benefits for 1.2 million amaericans. Please instill the fear of God into these people and let them know they have something to fear in the fall elections, unemployment for them. All of the following info can be found at OPENCONGRESS.com.
Thom ... is it not time to send heavy polluting industries
into at lest ; a stable L.E.O ( low earth orbit )...
Since Hammurabi's time and perhaps before that, there was a concept that there should be a legal limit on interest charges. Exceeding legal interest rates was called usury. The interest rate cap varied in different cultures and in different centuries, but the Greeks, Romans, Holy Roman Empire the English monarchs, and the infant United States of America all had restraints on what moneylenders could charge borrowers. It was understood that gouging was bad for commerce and bad for economic growth and prosperity.
Sen. Butch Otter, the Idaho Department of Transportation and Exxon Mobil have been planing for sometime now to move refining equipment from Korea, to the port of Lewiston, Idaho (the furthest inland sea port in the world), along US HW 12, going over Lolo Pass and the Bitteroot mountain range, and then up into Alberta Canada to the tar sands. This has been years in the making, yet Idahoans have been kept in the dark until about 4 months ago. Why did good old Butch and the DOT keep this in the dark for so long?
I heard a progressive talk show host interviewing another energy "expert." Anyone listening to progressive radio will on a regular basis be encouraged, implored, preached to, cajoled, advised, informed, and otherwise told that all we have to do is to switch to renewable energy, and all our problems will be solved.
It as if if global warming and alternative energy is the full extent of being a progressive. This is the only progressive issue in existence, apparently.

A Capital Idea Part 13: Force, Law, Religion, Culture and Money
Just a reminder: As President, Obama reversed his campaign rhetoric opposing new offshore drilling by saying, "In the short term, as we transition to cleaner energy sources, we'll have to make tough decisions about opening new offshore areas for oil and gas development in ways that protect communities and coastlines."
Clearly, Tony Hayward is not the only guy who wants to get his life back. Wouldn’t we all love to get back the life of clean oceans and an abundant, healthy, living planet?
Off with their heads.

Mein Gott! it is really hard to post even one comment. Why don't you make things easier?
Why don't Thom and Bernie just come out and say we are living under a form of fascism? The G20 meeting is in Toronto, and according to the Amy Goodman show and people she interviewed, there is a strong fence surrounding the "bigwigs" and 20,000 policemen or something like that. No one in main media covered the social forum in Detroit. In Toronto, they're using sound machines on protesters.
