Central Subway in SF to cost $176,000 per foot.

Part of the reason we are upside down financially.

90% funded by U.S. taxpayers.  10% California.  Looks like a very necessary addition to the tax burden of the 50% of the Americans who pay income tax.  $176,000 per foot for two mile project..

What would you ask Paul Ryan?

padlake's picture

It's no question what Paul Ryan (R-WI-1) has been up to. It's also disgusting what he's doing to his constituents (no free and open town halls, locking unemployed constituents out of his Kenosha office, $15/plate constituent dinner in lieu of town halls). As Thom pointed out on his show, my congressional representative Paul Ryan is for sale, and you are going to love this!

every day reminder

FrankieDaileyLivingArtist's picture

Shouldn't we remind ourselves and every one we know that the Rovians (correct me if it's wrong) deliberately  tanked  the economy to destroy the Democratic party by handing the mess over to it?  Please excuese my inarticulat writing I don't write real good but I do pay attention.

Thin Thread Numbers

leighmf's picture

How to break an interlocking numerical system down to its smallest components is key to what we cannot see. Much has to be deduced from data plus imagination, but simple numerical proofs are most convincing.

We are numbers, not men, The Prisoner was trying to tell us- we are prisoners of Number 1. Number 1 knows us by our filed legal document numbers, and in more advanced cases, by our account numbers of any sort, phone numbers, address, and zip code.

I'd like to ask the Republican Candidates if they believe the world will be recreated in the future.

Caleb's picture

If the Republican Candidates believe that God will recreate the world in the future, and so believe we don't have to worry about our current planet, voters should know about this NOW!

Many ultra-religious believe that the world will be recreated and so they don't have to worry about the environment, overpopulation, etc.

But if they believe something so outside the pale of accepted science, something so destructive, I sure would like to hear them talk about it and hear the reactions of voters to such views.

The Bible says it, I believe it, that settles it!! Oh really? Well...

Where Can I Get the Statistics You Use on the Show Thom?

Thom I'm always amazed by the research you do.  Yesterday's show included a bunch of statistics that I didn't have time to make a note of.  You specifically mentioned some statistics yesterday about Rick Perry's Texas.  For example... more childhood poverty in Texas, higher rates of unemployment.  I believe this all had to do with states that had a "RIght to Work" law vs. states that don't.

You also mentioned yesterday (8-24-11), the statistics on all of the countries that spent a larger percentage of their GDP than the U.S. (Germany was one).

The Big Blow for State Street

leighmf's picture

It works like this- the wind blows from Grand Cayman Island to State Street, where certain and numerous lawyers have privileged checking accounts. Prior to that, the funds have traveled through U.S. casinos and hole in the wall sleaze joints to Washington State, over to the Dutch Antilles. Wired to the Netherlands, it is then wired to Grand Cayman, and there you have it in simplest form.
