Thom's changing view of the European economy

It is very interesting listening to Thom blast Germany and France for replacing the weak and ineffective governments of Greece and Italy with businessmen. Did Angela Merkel suddenly lose all of her intelligence? You loved her all last spring and went on and on for segment after segment on how stable and perfect the european economic system was. I need not to go into all the multiple giveaway programs exist in the countries that are now belly up. They are now bankrupt because of them. Thom, you can call the giveaways democracy, but the hard facts are very clear.

A serious question

J.M. Mike Oborn, Author

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best
quotes about the debt ceiling:

"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law

sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th
amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months

JFK Tax reduction

John F Kennedy reduced the 91% tax rate to 76% because the wealthy were illegally moving their money to secret, off-shore banks to avoid taxes. When Kennedy reduced the tax rate the risk of legal action outweighted the new tax payments. As a result the government's tax income increased dramatically.

Social Security

Thom,

I have been a follower for years and believe you are the best to promulgate a solution to Social Security.

It is so simple. Remove the ceiling. Make the rich pay their share. Of course Republicans will fight it, but

get the issue out there. I wonder how many average voters are aware of it ?

GOP Blocks Equal Pay...again.

Just in time for election season, Senate Republicans blocked legislation aimed at closing the gender pay gap. For the third time since 2012, Republicans refused to allow debate on the Paycheck Fairness Act, and reminded women that the GOP doesn't believe in equal pay for equal work.
