"Renaissance Thinking About the Issues of Our Day"
Get ready bloggers! We’re about to kick off our annual VAVE contest. For new members who may not be aware of these annual intellectual gymnastics that’s short for Vile and Vicious Epithets contest. The competition reckons to be especially keen this year with well-armed and seasoned veterans pitted against clever and creative newcomers. Originality, a quality that these recent members appear to have in abundance, will count heavily in the final judgment (sorry, I meant judging).

"Conservatives" and, apparently some judges, seem to have no trouble with the principle of "all for one" and the sovereignty of personal freedom, but struggle with the couplet line "one for all" (which libertarians find ridiculous). Responsible citizenship and commercial standards and practices we need to achieve such has been ignored, I fear, and the public discourse reduced to the catastrophic damages and costs of broccoli markets (about which Congress could be reasonably expected to legislate, I suppose).

In my opinion, the D.A. is not protecting Zimmerman for political reasons. The Sanford police started doing the right thing, but they were stopped. The D.A. is protecting the Make My Day law. Subpoena his phone records. See how much he was involved in the 65 previous murders in his states. Did he make similar phone calls and visits to other police departments with these cases? Hmmm.
The more information that comes out the more it shows how our justice system works. Zimmerman called his father immediately after the shooting. I'd like to see a copy of his fathers phone records for that night. I'd like to know if his father who is a retired judge from Virginia contacted someone in power to try to prevent a real investigation. It would explain why high ranking officials allowed Zimmerman to be let free and take all evidence of the crime with him.
