"Renaissance Thinking About the Issues of Our Day"
Hi people of earth!
I live in Montréal and I was wondering if you guys un the USA get info about the massive protest against anti-democratic laws passed in Québec.
It started with a tuition hike of 75% over 5 years for the students. The student went on strike and wanted to negociate. The government acted totally immature and refused to negociate. This went on for weeks. On march 22nd a giant march was organised.
It is positively Orwellian to refer to the wealthy ownership class as the job creators. Job destroyers, pension destroyers, job exporters, and vulture capitalist are closer to the truth. Obviously there are jobs created through the administration of various business concerns, but the wholesale exportation of the manufacturing base of the American economy is still going on. And this process is carried on by the people now regularly referred to as job creators. One even hears this phrase used by many one might not think susceptible to this sort of propaganda.
Yes, I agree cutting the delivery to 5 or even 4 days a week is a good idea. This would be good for scheduling, cost reduction and environmentally better too(less trucks running all over the place). The biggest problem that people have with the postal service is the 45 cent stamp. But, consumers can save money using the postal service. My example: the other day I had a packet of papers to mail; UPS wanted to charge, for the same delivery time, over $10.00. I went to the United States Post Service and they wanted just $2.50 for same package of papers.
Does anyone know of meetup or political action groups in Northern Virginia? Among other things, I'm seeing a local, independent business being crushed by one of the "megacorps", and I've decided that it's time to do something about it.

Why did the Democratically controlled Federal Government allow this?
Obama's "States' Rights" is intended to benefit corporations just like Walker's "divide and conquer." In fact, States' Rights might even be considered a form of divide and conquer.
After reading Rachel Maddow's "war is now OK" book, "Drift"...and after reading John Nichol's "Uprising" which talks about the past and SOME "Great Gray Nappers" beginning to awaken now...and after working the streets between one and five times per week for over five years on behalf of PEACE...and after recently attending two days of Seatte's Folk Life Festival at the beautiful Seattle Center this past weekend...[bringing along my "anti-war...pro-peace...pro-environment...pro-green energy...pro-voting reform" banners and signs to perform some timely CI...Civil Informationing]...I
Traveling with the family dog on the top of your car instead of inside the vehicle is cruel. Mitt Romney seems to have enjoyed firing people. He exploited companies to make himself wealthy. I wonder why he wants to be President. I wonder how many Republicans want him to be their party's leader. I wonder why anyone would vote for him.
