"Renaissance Thinking About the Issues of Our Day"
Impossible is Just a Word
Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn't fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn't dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?
Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.
California, along with five other states, has passed a bill calling for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution voiding the Citizens United decision, but is there something that a state can do on its own to help the situation? The false choices (debt or no debt, government or freedom, etc.) about which Republicans are determined to convince the voting public are deceitful. There is no "uncertainty" about whether a deal including government spending and deficit reduction must eventually be accomplished (revenues and reforms are both required), the question is why that has not been done and which forces have impeded progress toward that goal - unwillingness to compromise will inevitably result in "not enough do ne".
I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in philosophy, in politics or in anything else, where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to Heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all.
If you want Mittney, vote Green
If you want Obomba, vote Libertarian
